I feel like plaid is having a moment this year; all plaids from buffalo plaid to this kind of holiday plaid my pants are. Actually it probably has a moment every year around this time, but it always feels new again. I saw these pants when I was at the Old Navy winter preview this past August. The minute they were online I ordered them, which was good because I think this particular plaid is sold out. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I’ve got many holiday plans for these pants. I mean let’s discuss the options here: chambray (duh.), sequined top, cozy sweater, cropped sweater with button down underneath, graphic tee + blazer. Who knew plaid pants had so many options? (*I did. I’m just going to toot my own horn on that one. That was definitely a brag.)

Also, let’s talk plaid and stripes. I feel like they are the odd couple of pattern mixing. They shouldn’t work together but they do so well. Thoughts on mixing plaid with prints? Yay or cray?

  1. This outfit is so on point. I can't decide which piece I like better. All of them?

  2. I was just looking at these pants on their website earlier this week. I've never worn that bold of a pant, but I absolutely love them. I love how you mixed prints and that cape is fabulous!

  3. I can't get enough plaid! So festive and pretty. Also– the cape?! You're ridiculously on-trend, as always. 🙂

    Always, Anita

  4. I've seen plaid pants floating around on the internet and I'll admit they intimidated me a bit but these look so great! I'm going to be on the hunt for them now because they really do make for a chic, effortless holiday look!

  5. Between the plaid and the cape, this is the perfect fall outfit. I never would have put stripes with plaid but it works SO WELL. I've been looking at plaid pants all season and I think it's time time to finally cave and buy some.

  9. Weather, my friend. It is CRAZY in Texas! We went from high 60s to low 30s in a matter of days! I'm crossing my fingers for those high 60s again next week 🙂

  10. As I write this, I am wearing the black and white plaid Pixie pants…chic, comfortable, and safe. I saw the pair you're wearing in store and was 100% unsure of them, but you've shown that they can look amazing and stylish. I feel like I should buy them right now, but I just don't know if I could pull them off like you could!

P.S. The cape. My heart. Yes.

  11. The tomato red heels are fab.u.lous!!!! I can't believe those pants are old navy – I can see why they sold out so fast!! You made plaid look so chic!
