This weekend was birthday celebration for everyone I know it seems. My best friend’s twins turned 1, my mom turned 40 again (you’re welcome mom) , and B, my husband, celebrated the end of his 20s. What kind of wonderful birthday party did you plan for your loving husband, you ask? Well as you all know, I am the next Martha Stewart, so we had a nice dinner planned with friends outside in a restored barn, an 8 layer birthday cake that I made in less than two hours, and very impressive pinterest decorations*, you know — the works. You only turn 30 once. But at the end of the day, we actually ended up scrapping that plan and just walked over to our favorite local place to grab pizza and beer. This is 30, people. And it was actually perfect. B said he wouldn’t have it any other way. Which is good because I actually had no party planned, no cake made and decorations included a handmade birthday card from scratch paper. He has learned to set his expectations low, like a good man.

Also, it should be noted that I did not wear this cute two piece cropped number. No I wore this on a random Thursday. For his birthday, I wore an old chambray shirt, some mismatched shorts and not a stitch of makeup. I’m telling you, the next Martha right here, folks. I really know how to make a birthday pop with excitement and charm.
*by the way, my autocorrect changed decorations (I spelled it incorrectly) to ‘deceptions’. Pinterest deceptions — you win, autocorrect, you win. Clever little devil…
