I love festival style each year. Maybe it’s because boho / free spirit isn’t always my style but I do love the option of it, especially in spring. I really started becoming inspired this year after looking and looking at street style from past festivals on Pinterest. Why am I so interested this year? Well, I’m glad you asked 🙂 Because this weekend I’ve been invited to hang out with Old Navy at their ON Oasis in Indio, CA! (It took me all of .2 seconds to say ‘YES!’ I’m 99% sure they invited me and I didn’t invite myself.)  I’ll be there along with Sally and Molly from a Piece of Toast, as we will road trip from LA to Palm Springs this Friday and then take over Old Navy’s Instagram this Saturday, bringing the festival to you!

Since finding out this amazing news, I’ve been haunted by the age-old question of “what do I wear?” When I look into my closet, I realize that I’m more on the chic side of the scale than I am boho.  So I figured instead of changing my whole style just for three days, why not just be festival inspired? I put together three festival-inspired outfits to can easily go from everyday to three day music festival weekends and back again.

There is just nothing that says spring like a little white dress. It just seems right to be sitting on a blanket in the sun listening to live music. For me, there is nothing worse than me hauling all of my accessories when I go on a trip, so I decide on delicate pieces that can layer. And now that i think about it, I’d probably tie a chambray around my waist just for extra coverage in case the temperature drops when the sun goes down.

This one is actually my favorite. When I turned to Pinterest for help / festival inspiration, I found crop tops galore. While I’m not a typical crop top kind of a girl, I do love a bit of a crop. So I’ll take this sort-of crop top and this high-waisted pencil skirt and viola! I’ve got the right amount of classic and festival all in one.

Any music festival that I’ve ever been to it seems that by the third day everyone is wiped and you are just looking to be comfortable. This is usually travel day too, so I figured that day three could double as a travel and festival outfit. Lightweight top and easy pants, done and done. I also feel like most of festival style can be as simple as adding a hat or a floral crown, if you’re a hippie at heart. Who knows what will happen this weekend? My inner hippie flag may fly and a flower crown will end up on this head. You’ll just have to follow along to see. 😉

  2. don’t you worry about wearing short-ish dresses or skirts when you’re sitting on the ground at festivals? I’d rather be wearing something like the third outfit where I could sit any way I please and not have to think about it. I do love all three looks, of course, I just question their practicality for a music festival. Unless you don’t sit on the ground at Coachella like you do at festivals that I’ve attended? I’d LOVE to go to find out :).

      1. Yes you can pull it off. Would love to see flowers in your hair. Hippie look is awesome!!!! Do it!!!

  3. Cute! I was just cleaning out my closet last night and was wondering if denim skirts were still in…now that I see this I’m moving mine from the toss pile to the keep pile! Love the pairing with the crop top.

  12. Ok, so I love the idea of the printed pant, especially when it’s loose and comfy in almost a pajama-esque way . . . I tried some on at H&M the other day and at a few other stores.. And while they all fit, I could not make myself buy them because the backside is just not flattering! I do not have a flat a**, in fact, it’s a rather fine feature, but how do I find printed pants that flatter!? And why don’t any bloggers take pictures from the back! I need to know all the details! Heeeelllp! lol 😉

  13. OMG, you’re going to Coachella!? I’m so jealous! I’m right here in LA but I’ve never had the money to go. Anyway, I haven’t seen a denim skirt in forever, but you look awesome in it. Inspiring!
