You guys, this is not a mint top. It’s light blue top. See the difference? My husband didn’t either.

I was recently introduced to the ‘Emerging Brands’ collection at Nordstrom (and by recently introduced, I mean insomnia shopping that lead me to look at every single page on the website.) A lot of times with designer items I simply look for inspiration in the styles or colors, as I can’t always buy the exact pieces. But much to my delight, I found quite a few things that fit my budget perfectly in this collection of up and coming designers.

Two of my favorites? Chelsea28 and 1.State. As a clothes horse, I like to pride myself in knowing lots of brands since that’s what I do — I buy for the shop and I’m always online.  Therefore I should know all of these things, right? Well these two brands were unheard of to me so it was quite a nice surprise. (I’m also really into Clover Canyon lately. Not quite as price tag friendly but beautiful to say the least.)

A few of my favorites from the Emerging Brands collection:

  1. Great outfit! The stripes and flowers are going so well together and I love the shoes!

  2. Love love love that top! You did such a great job playing around with patterns. I’ve been attempting to get a little more creative with my outfits, but haven’t been able to pull it off 🙂 This is great inspiration!
    Thanks Kendi,

  3. These beautiful photos are just the dose of Spring I need to combat the dreary, snowy protest to changing seasons our town seems to be hellbent on making 😉 Looking forward to warmer days and lighter, brighter outfits!

  4. I love this! I’m not the hugest fan of pattern mixing, but these pieces go so well together! I really want that skirt, too.

  9. I haven't heard of the collection either, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Mint is totally a more greenish look than this SO obviously light blue one 😛

  14. Wow! Loving the floral! I must say they all look quite simple yet the cut of them and the contrast of the clothes against each other work beautifully! Nicely done Kendi!
