I realize that bare legs and a winter hat don’t quite make sense as far as weather is concerned but as far as outfits are concerned it’s a go.

It’s just that weird time of year where it’s cold in the morning and chilly/warm in the afternoon. So I compromise — cold legs by morning, hot head by afternoon. Somehow it works.

  1. Love those Madewell ankle boots on you! They look like they’d be comfortable for all day wear. How is the sizing?

  2. Lol is exactly that time of they year! The weather here in Mexico is similar and though it might be kind of weird sometimes it looks so chic and cool. Love that Anthropologie skirt, is fabulous!

  3. Makes perfect sense to me, but I wear bare legs or at least bare feet way into ‘winter’ as I cannot stand for them to be hot. Love the hat; you are one of those few people that can wear any type of hat and it looks great on you.

  4. Starting to look at Madewell more and more because of you. Those booties are awesome…but I’d have to do some saving to get anything from them. Nice look!

  5. cute hat and it looks perfectly perched a top your head. i can never get my hats to look that cute!

  6. I always thought that dressing like this was just fashion blogging nonsense until I moved from Connecticut to Oklahoma. Now, this outfit makes perfect sense!

  7. That hat looks so good on you! Been searching for a cute one myself. Adorable!

  14. It’s cute anyway, regardless of weather-appropriateness! Always love grey on you. 🙂

  15. What a cute way to wear a beanie. It is so hard to get dressed when the weather is in between that! In Florida its more like summer and fall mixed with rain. Not cold enough for pants or sweaters really, not sweating bullets the minute you walk out the door, but its still to windy or cold to swim. Weather can make getting dressed do hard!

  16. I absolutely love the look! Where I live it’s gotten too chilly for bare legs, but I love the winter hat with the booties- so cute!

  23. this works winter or not! i wear hats all the time with a skirt. keeps your head warm at least

  24. Everything about this outfit is perfection. And since most of your heat escapes through your head anyway, wearing a cool hat is much more practical than wearing pants. (Like how I rationalize these things?) 😉

    High-five for the new layout!

  29. Woo! New layout! Looks great 🙂
(Also, I'm having serious beanie envy over here. Very, very cute!)

  30. Well, us Dallasites know what you're talking about! Still a great look, Kendi!

  31. Question about booties: I just got a great rugged pair of brown booties and they flap open enough (Steve Madden) that I’m not sure how to wear socks. Do I buy a cute pair of socks that I’m okay with people seeing? With skinnies, are there cute above ankle socks that can go over the jean and peek out?

    1. Honestly, I just wear whatever ankle socks I can find. Most of the time you can’t see in there and if someone can I kind of figure that they are looking too hard, right? 🙂 And yes, there are cute socks that can peek out! Check out old navy or target, they usually have cute options this time of the year.
