The thing I like about summer in Texas is that it kind of goes on forever. Sure it’s 100+ degrees some days but just when I think it’s about to turn to fall, I remember that it’s just now August. We still have summer nights for another month or so, we can still move a little slower during the day and blame the heat for everything for just a little bit longer. Of course, technically speaking we will have summer temperature for another 2 or 3 months and at some point you just give up on the hope of cooler weather and wear your fall boots anyways. Girl code.
But I do feel like in the summer we are just more fun. Like last night for instance, we went to a friend’s 30th birthday party in Dallas. We actually socialized with humans instead of being loners with our weird dog, so this is progress for us. Of course, by 9 pm everyone was yawning and the conversation had turned to kids and pets. I couldn’t help but think “this is 30.” But honestly I was in bed with my iPad by 10, so 30 doesn’t seem so bad.
Also, I’m not 30, I’m 28. I just like to prepare myself for the future.

I’m leaving my 30s in a few months and have to say this has been the best decade so far…
I’m the same way — early bed times for me! I will be turning 30 this year, so….. yeah.
I turned 30 earlier this year, and I have to tell you I feel fabulous! To be honest, I had a mini freak-out when I turned 28. I think all the build up about 30 came early for me.
But you know what, life doesn’t feel all that different when you turn 30. With a great hubby, family, friend, a wonderful home and God’s blessings … maybe I’ll worry about 40 someday!

I just turn 33 and let me tell you how my 30’s are the best times of my life. I’ve settled into my career and own a home —minus the kids and husband. But most of all, I’m living for me. I spent my 20’s being insecure and indecisive. Now I’m a confident go getter with better clothes and a sense of style. In my 30’s it is about what is best for me rather than comparing myself to everyone else. Better yet I’m the fittest I have ever been in my life.
I hate the fact that summer goes on forever down here! I miss having real seasons – not just hot, hot and muggy, less hot, and super rainy [aka spring, summer, fall, and winter]. in summer it’s just hard to talk myself into getting dressed every day when no matter what I wind up feeling all sticky and gross…

I can absolutely relate to the post-30 lifestyle, HOWEVER, I feel like my friends and I settled into it for about a year and then this summer have decided to revolt against it – this is the most social I've been in years! Aside from under eye circles, I'm feeling pretty great. 😉 So don't give up on social fun just yet, your 30's may surprise you!

Getting close to 30….you can tell once your Facebook page starts filling up with yes, as you mentioned “kids and pets”. I just turned 29 last fall so 30 is just around the corner. But hey, everyone gets there eventually. I may as well embrace that fact.
