You know those tops that are a little bit cropped but every time you wash and wear them you can’t remember if it was originally like this or if you shrunk it a little in the wash? That is this top. I’ve thought about it and there are three possible options here: I’ve grown an inch, this top has always been short as is my memory apparently, or I’ve accidentally shrunk it in the wash. I really hope I’m getting taller or my memory is becoming shallow because I take extreme pride in my laundry. I can call a fabric just by feeling it and then tell you how to launder it from there. I could talk to you about laundry for hours. In fact, I would do your laundry if you’d let me. That’s how much of a slightly boring freak I am. A boring freak with a really well-laundred wardrobe.

  1. LOVE this top and how you pair it with the boyfriend jean. Adds a little something to a casual look. 😉 And you totally just sold me on that romper!

  2. i too love laundry. maybe a little too much. my husband knows to not even try to go near it. i have the solid black skort romper from loft and i'm not sure why it says that….they are totally shorts. weird.

    beautiful as always!

  3. I have a peplum top that is also just barely-almost-too-short. It may just be the cut, because I always forget how short mine is too.

  4. lol at your skort romper comment. I hate it when peplums are too short!! THERE'S A REASON I LIKE PEPLUM SO MUCH OKAAAY and it has everything to do with distracting the eye from that area.

  5. Love this look!! And I love laundry, too. Maybe a little too much. Nice to know I'm not the only one. Usually, I get weird looks when I tell people that. haha 🙂

  6. Honestly, sometimes I love reading your commentary more than the pictures. I love your sense of style, but I always scroll to the bottom first, because I think it's the best part 🙂

  7. I have the pencil skirt in that same print, (also from H&M, duh)! Love it.
Purchased my first peplum top this past weekend and am really hoping it's not too short as I tried it on over my dress and really could not tell. Lazy! Being tall has so many disadvantages!

  8. So cute!! Also, you should do a laundry post and help a girl out! I'm sure I'm doing it wrong and I never know how to wash certain fabrics!

  9. I love doing laundry too. I actually don't feel productive unless my washing machine is running! lol Love your boyfriend jeans today Kendi. They're the perfect fit/wash!

  10. Kendi – please do a post on laundry! I would love hearing your tricks and tips for things that you can't just throw in the laundry machine.

  11. That is a great top and I love the necklace. Also in love with those mint shoes. Great look and very inspiring.

  12. Such a cute look! Love the printed peplum paired with casual boyfriend jeans! Also loving the pumps – I have the same "Kayden" pump from Ivanka Trump in black and they are so comfortable and sexy! Great look Kendi!

  13. Three things: 1.) I am so sad that I missed that entire dalmatian spotted collection at h&m! I still swoon every time I see the print, yet own nothing from it. Boo! 2.) Those jeans are AMAZING on you! and 3.) I have the same thing happen to me with dresses that I haven't worn in a while… "Was this always this short? Did it shrink? Did I grow? When was this ever appropriate?" … buuuut, then somehow end up waiting a week and wearing it anyway.

  14. I have that same top and have that same EXACT issue! If it makes you feel any better, the shirt is just short. Or we are tall. Who knows. Love that I'm not the only one.

  15. I second this request! It's a little sad I'm a thirty something year old woman who doesn't know how to do my laundry right. Please help us!!!

  16. When I saw this on instagram, I thought it was a dress. I really love the sophistication mixed with the relaxed denim! I'm glad one of us likes laundry…the only part I like about it is the excuse to catch up on my DVR as I fold. 🙂

  17. I have the romper you linked to, and I love it 🙂 Just posted it yesterday, actually. But more importantly, I am laundry challenged…I generally just avoid washing my clothes as much as possible because I assume I will ruin them. So it's a good thing I don't live near you because I really would bring my laundry to your house.

  18. I have that romper from LOFT! It's extremely comfortable and I knew your tops print looked so similar to the romper when I saw the pictures. I paired the romp with yellow accessories and shoes. The print really makes your necklace pop!

  19. Ha ha! I was just telling my hubby the other day that laundry day is my favorite day of the week. There's something about pulling warm clothing out of the dryer and burying your head in it to take a long whiff of those freshly washed pieces. I guess I'm a slightly boring freak too (^_^)

  20. Kendi, this is one of my favorite of your outfits as of late! So cute! I love the print on your top, and those jeans fit you beautifully! You are just so gorgeous.

  21. Hi Kendi, would you do a post on how to do laundry? I never learned the art, and had ruined too many of never worn clothes. I would really really appreciate it. Thanks~

  22. It's funny that you mention the romper from Loft 'cause I just got it yesterday afternoon at Mockingbird Station! When I saw your IG picture (before reading your post), I thought: "Wow! My romper and her top look so similar. I wonder if they're the same…" Oh, the irony!

I am diggin this outfit so much. When I got the romper, I was worried as to how I would style it, but seeing your post encourages me to try out a statement necklace along with it. I was afraid that a statement necklace and the print would clash, but it works out great! Definitely going to give it a go!

  23. That top is really nice! It's so good with the jeans. Looks like a nice length too, hope you didn't shrink it. I've only ever shrunk something once, I think the material was overly delicate or something? It went from being oversized to fitted, which looked okay, but I was too scared to wear and wash it again in case it shrunk further! haha.

  24. I don't think I've seen anything from Anthro that I don't like – this might become a problem! Love that top…let's hope you just grew a bit, the other options don't seem as good.

  25. Please, please post your laundry guide! I'm telling you: such a thing will go wildfire on Pinterest.

  26. Just wanted you to know I requested the Madewell tote you use so often for my birthday. My bags have to be work horses and I'm figuring that if you use yours so often, I can too.

  27. Everything about this outfit is adorable! But I'm also in love with the soft pastel tones of these images! Do you use actions? They remind me of film 🙂

  28. I want to recreate this outfit head-to-toe. You always are such a fashionista but this one is just absolutely perfect.

  29. This happens to me all the time (except it's usually with dresses). "Why did I buy this dress if it's this short?!"

Very cute outfit, and I love the necklace!

  30. Alright, so here's what baffles me about the skort (because I know you wanted my opinion). Why skirt in the front and shorts in the back? Why not skirt all the way around with attached shorts underneath? You know, like a child's skirt. That would be a) cuter and b) practical. Cute and practical, now there's a combo I can get behind. Either that or I'm an 8 year old girl. Hmm?

  31. I loved this look and photography so much I included it in my Friday top five. Fabulous!

    bisous

  32. As weird as this will sound, I love ironing. Whenever I bring that up people start begging me to iron their clothes! So I can understand your love for laundry. We should work together as a team!!! Hahaha 😉
