It is pouring down rain here. And I’m sure the weather is doing something freaky where you are, too. We had a little bit of a break to snap a few photos but I wasn’t about to step more than a few feet from the doorway. I am not going to ruin a good hair day like that. But I did send my husband out in the rain to take these photos, so there’s that. (For the record it was light rain and he did volunteer. But yeah, I probably owe him for that one.)

I found this sweatshirt at Old Navy the other day. Normally I’d never buy a sweatshirt this late in spring but it just hasn’t become warm yet fully here, so I was kind of excited to snatch it up. Today had sweatshirt day written all over it. One day I will wear my spring dresses, one day. Until then, cute sweatshirts and ridiculously loud heels will have to do.

Oh and I also broke down and bought some Hunter Boots. Two things will happen now: it will either stop raining this spring or I will at least get to look cute when it decides to pour. I’m okay with either option here, universe.

  1. Weather in tx sucks! Where is spring?? It’s either way too cold or in the 80s with ridiculous wind… Boooo… At least you look cute!

  2. Love the outfit, love the hair, but it all might be overshadowed by your cute little shop’s exterior! Care to take us non-local fans on a tour some time?

  3. love those neon heels. they’ve gotta make that rainy day better! they would make mine, at least. and i desperately want a pair of hunters. i will probably break down and buy a pair in the near future…my husband will be less than thrilled.

  5. You’ll love the Hunters — they are awesome. Just don’t walk long distances in them…it’s like having 5 pound weights on your feet!

I feel the same way about my spring dresses! It’s supposed to snow here today/tomorrow (up to 11 inches…yikes!) so they won’t be coming out any time soon 🙁

  6. Hunter boots are the best investment I ever made! Every other year here in NYC I’d dodge the tiniest puddles on a rainy day. Now I’m clomping through the most inclement weather with a smile on my face.

  7. Super cute look. The weather is really hot here which is weird b/c a week ago we were freezing. The rain’ll probably move in our direction in a few days. Cute boots too.

  8. Oh I’m so loving this outfit!! The neon is perfection!

  15. Love this outfit! I actually spotted this sweatshirt at Old Navy the other day and considered it but thought it might be too hard to pull off the whole inspiring words on an item of clothing thing. But seeing this polished outfit makes me wish I’d bought it! You dressed it up so nicely, this is exactly the kind of look I’m always going for. 🙂

  31. Kendi- first of all you’re absolutely gorgeous! Boyfriend jeans and a sweatshirt are just a genius comfy, rainy day combo! Second, I’d like to take a second to recognize how amazing of a blogger you are for showing all of us amateurs that it’s possible to be absolutely darling on a wallet-friendly budget. You’re not afraid as a huge, popular, blogger to say- “hey this is from old navy” and you shop at Target, Gap, and H&M (as well as lots of other classy stores) just like most of the majority of bloggers and readers do! Just wanted to appreciate you for a moment- you’re inspiring, and as a reader of Kendi Everyday for 2 straight years I don’t think I ever took the opportunity to thank you!
