I felt very Tieka-esque in my striped cardigan and floral dress today. Yesterday it was a 60 year old man, today an adorable fashion blogger. I think I may be having an identity crisis. If I show up on the blog tomorrow in a Winnie the Pooh costume, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I’m going to need you all to write stern letters to Usher reprimanding him for getting the song “OMG” stuck in my head. Every time I sit down to write a post this week, that chorus rolls through my head and I must immediately lower the lights in our house, turn on the disco ball and start a dance party. It’s really starting to get unproductive and annoying. And if you’ve never heard of this song — DO NOT SEARCH FOR IT ON ITUNES. It will take over your brain at the worst times with its robot voices and crowd chanting– while you are trying to go to sleep, during a meeting when someone asks you a question, and most importantly while blogging.
“Most importantly while blogging” — make sure that is in your letter to Usher.

  1. Kendi, now that song is stuck in my head, too! Get it out!!

As usual, love the outfit. I like the pattern mixing you did here, and that dress is so summery.

  2. my coworkers and i were singing that dang song during work and it's constantly stuck in our heads now! i love this outfit and the setting! your camera is so cute too!

  3. I can definitely see a bit of Tieka in this, but it's still you! And oh God (rather, OMG), that song that damn song. It's almost up there with Boom Boom Pow in terms of how amazingly stuckable it is. But the impromptu dance parties sound fun!

  4. i love the pattern mixing here. also your photo location looks like the garden of eden! sometimes small towns really shine in a blog–i love finding random spots where i live.

  5. Oh Kendi, I LOVE this!! Love the mixing of stripes and florals. I'm going to have to try this!

And I will get on to writing Usher. Perhaps we can start a campaign on Facebook so that you can concentrate all your powers on blogging!

  6. Okay, so, we all know you're allthetimecute but that second to last photo…. STUNNING! You're a gorgeous creature, Kendi Lea.

  7. It's so funny that you mentioned that, OMG was going through my head last night when I was trying to get to sleep. I was thinking, WHY? I do not even like this song! Grr. Haha.

I think you look Tieka-esque too, it suits you! What a gorgeous dress!

  8. i always get songs stuck in my head and then find myself singing them outloud and then realizing that i am in public…and everyone is staring at me 🙁

  9. This outfit is really "Eight days a week", retro in a perfect way! Especially with the camera! You look like you head home and listen to the Beatles. (Usher? What Usher?)
    🙂

  10. Definitely the best outfit yet!! SO cute. I love the photos and location too 🙂

  11. Cute outfit, and yes – very Tieka-ish! Don't even get me started on OMG… I love that song but you are right, once I listen to it – it is seared on my brain.

I FINALLY got my you-know-what together and started my 30/30 challenge! Yay! First post is up today!

  12. Argh! First I was humming "8 DAys a Week" and now it's USHER! Dang!
And we rarely get closeup shots of you, so this was great! You are so naturally beautiful! I'm jealous and wish I could wear ZERO makeup.

  13. Great outfit! And these pictures just perfectly capture how beautiful you are and how happy you seem to be. I love them!

  14. I love the flower stripe combo, Iahve been thinking about trying it and now I am inspired…I find it very delightfully Tacky-esque!

  15. Did you include the Winnie the Pooh costume in your 30 for 30? I really hope you did. 😀 This is super adorable. Your shoes make me glad.

  16. Cuter and sweeter every day. I know I sound all old ladyish saying this (I'm not really THAT old) but you remind me of my daughter (she's 3 btw) I hope & pray she grows up as gorgeous as you.

Ever since I saw your 30 in 30 challenge I have been debating doing it with her as the star. I'm curious, do you have any other child partygoers? …. Thinking … it could be cute ….

  17. I really like your 30 to 30 challenges and outfits! You always write funny or interesting stuff too. But why did you have to talk about OMG? I can't get it out of my head either now..

  18. i LOVE this look! i have a rugby striped cardigan from AA that i rarely remix because i'm just too chicken to try pattern mixing. clearly i need to grow some cajones.

  19. I'm getting so addicted to these fashion blogs lately… I barely have time to watch the children. I found you because of GoodLifeforLess.. Your photos are amazing. I used to work in the photography world several years ago and miss it like crazy. Your outfits are fun and inspiring and your writing is hilarious!

Question though.. What editing tool do you use on your photos (to drop in the verbiage)??

  20. The stripes and florals look amazing! Love this look 🙂

I love seeing those Target heels on other bloggers. They're not the most comfortable, but I wear them to death.

  21. "This is something special, this is something dynamite" lol! 🙂 You're totally rocking this outfit and don't even get me started–Lady Gaga is constantly in my mind and I don't even listen to that type of music!

  22. Am i the only person that one someone tells me NOT to do something, I do it? As soon as I read this I had to download the Usher song to see what you and all your commentors were talking about. Now I wish I had listened to you! LOL
Cute outfit – love that sweater.
