If you don’t love affordable and adorable shoes, then this post is not for you.

Oh good, you’re still here. You are my kind of person.

I don’t know what is different about this year, but I have been slow to find my fall shoes. I’d blame it on the heat but let’s be honest, I’ve lived in Texas my whole life — September is always just an extended summer. I’m usually the first person in booties or boots but this year I just haven’t found any that I super love. So I’ve just kind of ignored the fact that when it’s finally cooler here all the good boots will be sold out and I will be sad. This is just a fact.

I was browsing Wal-Mart the other day because they released a new (old) line (Scoop NYC) and I was immediately Gaga for these snakeskin boots and this chunky sweater. In my 30s I’m a lot less inclined to spend a lot on a trendy piece but I’ve been absolutely loving all of the snakeskin styles lately. These boots are the perfect price to try out the trend AND I love that the color of the boots are brown / black instead of grey and black. I find this color combo easier to wear with the tones I already have in my closet. So I decided to give them a shot along with this pair of knit booties, too. This is a very designer look and it can either be a find or a fail. Let me tell you — it’s a FIND. (Said like ‘finnneeee’ as we did in the 90s)

Speaking of the 90s, I am not mad at this pair of subtle acid wash denim. (LOL has ‘subtle’ and ‘acid wash’ ever co-existed in a sentence like that before?) I’ve been wanting to try out Sofia Vergara’s line at Wal-Mart but it’s usually always sold out. I snagged up this pair and they fit perfectly. I am in the 8 — true to size and lots of stretch! Mixed with this gorgeous high-neck top and fedora, I am ready for autumn. It’s witch season, baby and my Scorpio soul is ready. (But for real, I do love this top! It’s gorgeous on and is only $24!)

Okay back to the shoes. I know this is a sponsored post, but I hope you know that I only speak to the things I truly love. And I LOVE both pairs of booties. I honestly couldn’t believe how affordable and well made they were once I got them in the mail (2-day shipping, baby!) I am in the size 10 of both and I would suggest that if you want to wear anything other than a shoe liner, then size up a half size. I’m a pretty true size 10 and these fit me perfectly, but I won’t wear a bulky sock with them. I know my northern state ladies have to think about winter more than I do, so just FYI on the fit.

I was trying to decide which I like more but I can’t. I like the black booties because they feel different than anything I’ve owned before and they are very flattering with skinny jeans. I like where they hit my ankle and the heel is comfortable to walk in. They look designer to me! With the snakeskin booties, I love this trend and this is the exact way I like to approach it — it’s a statement but it’s not screaming at you. The colors are muted, the fit is spot on and they look expensive. If you can’t tell, I’m a fan. The snakeskin boots come up a bit higher on the ankle than the black booties, so skinny jeans or bootcut jeans or a mini skirt / dress will be your best bet for the most flattering look! The black booties can work with everything!

I wanted to round up a few other shoes I’ve found at Wal-Mart recently in case you are looking for a nice budget-friendly pair but maybe snakeskin isn’t your thing! See my picks below! (PS: most of these are 2-day shipping!)

Must-Have Fall Shoes

I can’t wait to style them with other things in my closet, too. These will be a staple for me this fall. I can’t believe I’m saying snakeskin will be a staple but the year is 2019 and we still don’t have flying cars so snakeskin booties is how I’m gonna live out my wildest dreams. What about you? Are you here for the statement of the snakeskin or do you love a classic black bootie?

I am in the medium of the chunky sweater — it fits true but it’s very oversized!! Size down if you don’t like a loose fit. I am in the 8 of both jeans — TTS and so stretchy! I am in the medium of the black top, true to size as well. The shoes both fit true but snug, if you are in between sizes go up a half size!
