You are going to have to forgive my wrinkles today. You know how I am a steamer freak and I steam everything — even Gemma’s clothes, ya’ll. I am ridiculous and I know it. I have a deep love for steaming. Which is why typically, I am wrinkle free in photos, but I made a rookie mistake and didn’t steam these shorts because they looked F I N E in person. Literally, I didn’t even notice the wrinkles…until well after we shot and I was looking at these photos thinking, ‘damn girl, ever heard of an iron?’ So please forgive me and my wrinkled shorts. Kendi from 5 years ago would have re-shot this outfit in a heartbeat. But present Kendi isn’t as uptight or responsible BUT silver lining — I’m a lot more fun. Okay, okay and just a tad bit more wrinkled.

I don’t know why but I was drawn to these floral shorts like a moth to the light. They are just happy and fun and sometimes you need to shake up your regularly scheduled denim cut-offs for something a bit more lively. I was excited when I realized they went with my favorite top lately. Since the shorts fit more high waisted, they paired perfectly with this slightly cropped top. (If you aren’t a fan of a crop, but love a ruffle sleeve — I found a similar top here!) You can find these floral shorts under $50 here..

Fit Details

I always feel weird saying this because I never want to lead you wrong, but possibly size down if you are in between sizes!  They fit generous! I’m in the medium and they are loose, which I like this fit but if you want them to be more of a fitted or tailored look, size down!

Monthly Capsule Wardrobe

Each month I create monthly capsules out of my favorite pieces, perfectly curated for each month.

  1. Love the print. Not a fan of linen – too wrinkle-prone.

If I ever get a full-time, stay in one place home again, I am so buying a steamer.

Actually, I think i have a steamer cleaning wand in the motorhome – only 800km from me right now…….. Road trip?

    1. Not random at all! Happy to help! I’ve used a lot of them over the years but one of the cheaper and the better brands is a con-air! I’ve used a PurSteam one for years and I wrote about it a couple of years ago but they’ve updated that model and it’s not as good as this one here: http://bit.ly/2trOJxV This is a Con Air handheld steamer. The ones that sit on the ground are stronger and we would use these at the store for heavy duty steaming, but for storage sake I prefer a handheld.
