Cargos and Capes

This post includes two things I truly love: cargos and capes. It’s actually really hard to find a good version of both and here I am standing in two really, really good ones. Let’s talk about these cargo skinnies first — they are the right amount of skinny and the right amount of cargo and they are the right amount of money, priced under $80. Let me explain — sometimes the cargo pockets on pants like this stick out too much or really scream “I can put actual tools in my pockets!!” These, however, are classy cargo pockets, no tools here. In fact, nothing can fit in these pockets, they are purely ornamental which is the way it should be. If you are buying pants for item storage, then we need to talk.

I’m a longtime lover of capes and this one caught my eye the minute I walked into J.Crew. (By the way, me and the Crew are making up. We’ve been busted up for a few years but I’m feeling her look again.) This sweater is SO soft and you can layer it (see that look here) or just wear it free. I have a camisole underneath mine for safe keeping. I feel like when it gets a bit cooler, I can layer a chambray or even a long sleeve tee underneath for an even cozier look. To me, this cape screams ‘wear me to Thanksgiving’ because it has copious room for expansion underneath. I’ll have to pair it with my leggings and then I’d really be ready for Thanksgiving.

This cape does have a hint of wool in it, but it’s not itchy. However if wool isn’t your jam, then move on. Oh and it’s 30% off right now! See? J.Crew is making its move again.
