When we booked our trip a few weeks ago, we knew we’d be chancing it with a few rainy days. But it turns out that Zurich and Lucerne and still beautiful when it rains. But I wanted to take a chance, even if it rained every single day. I knew I just would need to be prepared with a few extra things in my suitcase. This hooded jacket was a life saver during the random down pours that would sneak in and out of the sunshine. I was glad I picked this cape up last minute and so thankful I packed my rain boots. Both were perfect for traveling and helped us to continue our city exploring, even if it meant we got a little bit of rain on us.

I have to say though, this dolman sweater gets the MVP award for the trip. It has been so versatile and so warm, I couldn’t believe it. I mainly packed in shades of grey and camel, so it’s been easy to wear or layer with other things. I couldn’t resist layering my two favorite grey pieces, because when in doubt, wear grey. Is grey the new black? No, but it’s a very close second. (PS: the sweater and the cape fit a bit oversized. I’m in the medium in both. The cape I almost feel as if I should have sized down!)

One of my favorite things to do in Europe is to just wander the streets and see what’s around the corner. We never fail to find a really good cafe or wine shop that ends up being our favorite of the whole trip. This alley way ended up leading us to one of our favorite meals in Zurich, so my wandering down strange alley ways will lead to good food theory is still going strong. A few people have asked if I’ll be sharing the places we visited and what we did on trips in more detail, and of course I will! Some things are just meant to be shared. 🙂

  2. I agree, wandering the streets is the best way to introduce yourself to a new European town. I’m actually heading to Lucerne next weekend, so I love the idea of a cape like that!

  3. What a beautiful look!! My husband and I will be honeymooning for a month in Europe in April and need to travel light. I’d like to pack shoes that are stylish, versatile, and good for walking the streets. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
