As we explored the city, I kept falling in love with the colors of the buildings and quickly realized that I was unintentionally matching my backgrounds. We found this building with a coordinating door that matched my dress just perfectly. We knew we had to come back with my matching dress. Now back home, I all of a sudden I want to paint my house blue. I don’t think the HOA would approve, but a girl can dream of coordinating her outfits with her house.

For those who haven’t been, Rainbow Row is a long strip of pre-war, Georgian style homes that have been around for over 200 years. They were considered the slums during the early 1900s and a woman ended up purchasing a few homes on this road and another woman started to restore them in the 20s and 30s, painting them in bright pastels. It’s almost like a scene from a movie set, they are so beautiful and inspiring. If you are in Charleston, this is a must go to and must photograph area of the city.

I think that I will forever call this dress my Charleston dress. Do you ever tie memories to certain things you were wearing that day? This day was especially fun and relaxing and finding this serendipitous spot off of Rainbow Row just made the day like a dream. So this dress is named the Charleston dress in my closet now. (Don’t act like you don’t name your clothes, too. Oh you don’t? Cool. Just me?)

A few of you have asked for recommendations on where to stay and what to do while in Charleston and I’m putting together a post of what we did! Coming at you towards the end of the week.
