Last week, B and I headed north to Charleston and quickly fell in love with the city. I was enamored with the history of the city, the architecture and the beautiful colors of all of the buildings that lined the century old streets. We basically just walked and walked and walked the city, finding coffee shops and restaurants along the way.

This neighborhood is right off of Rainbow Row and right near the waterfront. We kept going back to this place, because it was just so peaceful and happy. We would walk down in the morning to see the waterfront and slowly make our way back. Tradd Street ended up being a favorite place to shoot because of the beautiful light in the morning. Then we’d find a new place for breakfast each morning. It was the best week of exploration and relaxation.

This midi dress actually came in quite handy. I packed it more for dinners out but I ended up wear it during the day, as it was lightweight and perfectly switched between flats and heels. I actually love wearing dresses when we travel and explore. They are my secret weapon when packing; they don’t take up much room and are perfect for day or night. This dress is so lightweight it was perfect for the weather and walking around finding new things to eat. Which is basically what we did all week. Eating and exploring: I have no regrets.

  1. I see you’re taping your toes together! I’ve heard this is a sneaky trick to try when wearing heels. Can you talk about how it helps?

    1. Bahaha! — I actually forgot that you could see that in the photos! I’m dying a little, that’s so funny to me. Yes, it actually does help — not so much in sandals like these since they are open toe, but in closed heels. I had bandaged my toes like that for my Vince flats, they are pointed toe d’Orsay flats and when I walk a lot in them they start to rub on the tops of my toes. But it actually is more comfortable if you tape those two toes together if you are wearing closed toe heels for an extended amount of time! Try it sometime, it really does help! 🙂

  2. This dress looks amazing on you and I love it with the strappy shoes. I’ve never been before, but this definitely makes me want to go explore Charleston.

  3. I love this! I can’t wait to go to Charleston this fall, we have a girls trip planned. Do you think you could give us your recommendations of places to eat and shop???

  4. Love this girl! I love all of your travel instagrams — keep them coming 🙂
