If you are like me, you aren’t a bad gift giver. You’ve just got bad timing. It isn’t your fault — holidays sneak up on the best of us. In fact, it happens every single year — before I know it, it’s the day of a holiday and I am left to the shallow selection of picked over cards and without a gift. Would I be lying if I said I’ve actually picked up a gift on the way to a celebration dinner or party or shower? No. Would I be lying if I said I actually lied and told someone I forgot their gift at home and I’d get it to them later, only I don’t have their gift at home because I never bought it and I didn’t get it to them later? Okay yes, that one is technically lying and I have definitely done that. But the thing is I’m actually a really good gift giver. *pats self on back* I like giving gifts, it’s just that my timing is almost always wrong.

Secondly, while I do love receiving a gift card, I just can’t bring myself to give them. Not when I’ve been given the gift of good gifting; I can’t waste this talent on gift cards. So what is a professional procrastinator, like myself, to do? Let me throw this technology your way: e-gifting. What is this magic you ask? Macy’s now has an e-gifting option which is genius, in my opinion. You can pick out any item that has the “e-gift” tag by the add to cart button and select that option. Then your recipient receives the email, opens it up to see that they’ve been given a gift from you! But the best part is they get to pick the size, the color, the option that they want so you know that they will get exactly what they need. No need to guess, they get to choose their options and then voila! It’s shipped to them. Easiest, most intentional last minute gift ever. What a time to be alive, right?

Here are a few of my favorite gifts from Macy’s to give moms for Mother’s Day! As always you can click through the ‘+’ on the product and go right to the page.

I’ll just be over here drinking my coffee ordering gifts all day long. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

*Special thanks to Macy’s for collaborating on this post and for making the world a nicer place for procrastinators like me.

  1. GENIUS! I am guilty of the using the excuse I left your gift at home and then never giving it to them because it never existed, also. Not proud of it. I am so excited to try out this tool! Thanks for a wonderful post, as always 🙂

  2. So lovely post but I comment to inform you of a strange thing happening with your feed in my reader. I use feedly and I can’t see any of your photos. The text shows up but no images. As a long time reader I love the visual story you tell in your posts.

  3. Great post! Also I love the piece of art against the wall behind your desk. Any chance you can share where you got it?

    1. Sure! It’s from Homegoods 🙂 but I believe there is a similar if not identical at Z Gallerie

  4. Excellent post! Random question, but could you share where you got the gold shelving/bookcase that can be seen in the final picture? Also, I would LOVE it if you did a tour of your new home!
