Do you want the good news or the bad news first? You want the good news first? I like your style. So the good news is I’m wearing dog shoes. They have a perpetual frown which I actually love. It’s pretty much my personality wrapped up in a shoe. Cute but frowny. So the bad news is the dress I’m wearing does not exist. Well technically this one that I am wearing does exist, so your eyes are not fooling you — I am in fact wearing a dress. But I can not for the life of me find it anywhere online. This dress is from West & Lou a few weeks back and we sold out within the week before it even reached online. And even with all the information I have on this dress, I can not find this exact one. I would be a terrible private investigator. That’s the bad news.
But I’m not one to leave you with bad news. I have searched high and low into the depths of the internet to find a few similar dresses. Perhaps not all are windowpane print but they are definitely black and white and cute all over. Cute with a frown. 😉

  1. Oh man I love this. So sad that the dress no longer exists to buy, but good for you for selling out of it. Not a bad thing in the retail world!

  2. Love this look! Your shoes are so cute! I don’t wear many dresses but they would look so cute with jeans too!

Ps- I just started a new blog. It’s called Mildly Moody and its aimed towards female entrepreneurs and career IT girls. Perhaps you can take a look when you get a chance?

  3. I was just wondering, do you mention when items you are wearing were received c/o? I am just curious because I found your blog while looking for “everyday” fashion blogs, or those for ladies who aren’t in the market to shell out $1k on an outfit. Buuuuut despite your blog description being approachable/affordable/high-low mix, the least expensive item you’re wearing in this post is the dress. which we can’t find. all total, this outfit is well over $1k. what gives?!

    1. Hi! Yes, I do mention when I receive courtesy of products and I simply label it with the c/o next to it and if the post is sponsored by a brand then at the end of the post you’ll always see a note saying that it’s sponsored.

I’m glad you stumbled upon my blog and sorry it isn’t exactly what you were looking to find! This blog is my everyday and what works for me but I understand it might not be yours. I tried to link different options for different budgets above but again understand if it’s not for you. A few of my favorite budget-friendly blogs are Penny Pincher Fashion, Merrick’s Art, Jaclyn Day Blog and Jill GG’s The Good Life for Less. Hope this helps on your blog reading journey!

      1. Thanks for the helpful response, and other blog suggestions, much appreciated! I do like your style, just wish I could afford those doggie shoes 🙂

      2. The shoes you have on are not the same as the website you linked to. I like the ones you have on-not the overpriced Marc Jacobs ones. Are the ones you have on also Marc Jacobs?

    2. When I see an item I like that is way out of my price range, I go on Shopstyle and type in a keyword. It gives options on all price ranges. Another idea is to save the photos you like and when you are shopping ask a nice associate if she knows of anything similar. That has worked for me several times. =)

      1. Oh that’s a great idea! I actually need to use that for posts like these when I can’t find the exact item. Thanks girl! 🙂

  4. Very cute and stylish, but some more attainable pieces would be nice to see. Even assuming you got the dress for free, the outfit still adds up to nearly $1,300!
