Is it just me or do the holidays just make you want to dress cozy all of the time? It’s finally getting cold enough here that I can wrap up in cozy sweaters or sweater capes like this one. Which by the way, may or may not be an early Christmas present from my sweet husband. (Daily emails with links work! I repeat, daily emails with links and photos work!) I’ve had my eye on this Eileen Fisher one for a while and I think it’s because I’ve been really drawn to this kind of look lately — cozy but structured. And while this looks like a normal sweater cape it’s actually a small blanket of chic. Sure to the outside eye I look pulled together but I’m so comfortable in this wrap that I’m actually on the edge of a nap. And it’s only 10 am. Now that’s a good sweater cape.
Speaking of holidays, we are officially 9 days out before Christmas. I’m 30% there as far as gifts go. Yes, that’s a low percentage considering how close we are but it’s not that I’m a procrastinator on purpose. It’s that I can’t decide on what to give so then I procrastinate. I’ve got carts open all over the internet right now but I’m just a little unsure on a few people in my life. Mainly the little people in my life. My nephews are getting to the age where I have no idea what they are talking about when they explain toys and what’s cool to me now. My eyes literally glaze over — all of these new terms, toys, and games. I never thought I’d see the day when I had no idea what cool was, but we are here. Do you think they would like a sweater cape for Christmas? Ask your 6 and 8 year old boys and get back to me, mmkay?

  1. Absolutely love this look, but I have a small complaint– a $400 sweater, really? I love how affordable your looks usually are– even a $100 pair of boots or jacket is totally fine. But a $400 sweater? It is annoying more than anything.

  2. Hi Kendi! Can you tell me what brand the necklace is/where it can be found?? I love a long delicate gold chain like that!

  3. I love this outfit, but man, that sweater is wayyyy too expensive. I sorta miss the days where everything was pretty affordable to buy after seeing it on your blog.

  4. I'm sure in kart it's due to the temperature and in preparation to absolutely stuff our faces from delicious food

  5. I always love to watch "The Holiday" on repeat during the Christmas season, and even though that movie is from 2006, Cameron Diaz's winter English countryside wardrobe is pretty on point. It's always good inspiration!
    Dead for your cape!

  6. This is such a beautiful outfit Kendi! I love all of the grey, and it does look so comfortable, yet stylish too! I often find cosy clothes are comfortable, but don't look so stylish. I think you've nailed it with the cape 🙂

    Away From The Blue

  7. Agreed with most- love the look-but $400 for a cape, Kendi? Are you getting Nordstrom credits or something you're not disclosing? What happened to the friendlier budget options of the past? If Nordstrom is giving you money/store credit/ etc/ it would be great if you would disclose.

  8. I am becoming borderline obsessed with rose gold jewelry lately. It gives everyone a glow that is so attractive! Loving the color combo here, too. It has always been and always will be a winner!

  9. No just a gift from my husband not from Nordstrom 🙂 I linked a similar option above, if you're looking for a similar look but different price point.

  10. Love the look! I work with elementary age children – Legos or Kinetic sand – you'll be the favorite aunt. You can thank me by letting me borrow the cape – jk – you enjoy that fabulous gift!

  11. lmao I said the same thing last year when one of my nephews started talking about Skylander Swap something or other…. this year I lucked out and he's into Pokemon which I know more about! This may sound like a weird tip, but if you're not sure at all, just watch Nikelodeon/Nick.com for an hour or so and you'll see all the toys advertised over there and can be sure they probably won't hate something like that. 😉 At least that's what I do and it gives me an excuse to watch Legend of Korra which is a surprisingly good kid's show…

Anyway, great cape sweater I love the color palette! Good luck with your shopping!

  12. So pretty. Did you intentionally match the Nordstrom model, with her nude open-toe booties and long sleeved gray tee? 😀

  13. You look beautiful. Just wanted to wish you an early Merry Christmas. You've been up there as one of my favourite blogs for years. Thanks for keeping me inspired x

  14. I love, love, LOVE this outfit. And your hair is adorable, too. Double win!

  15. Loving all the grey!

And I have to say, I feel the exact same way about shopping for certain kids. Pro-tip: googling Skylanders does nothing to help understand what exactly it is your nephew wants.
