This is the time of year that I always want to jump head first into fall. But it’s still summer. But I want it to be fall. Good thing for air conditioners right? It’s a cool 72 degrees most places we go, just like a crisp autumn day.

This top is kind of perfect for not-quite-autumn days. It looks layered….but it’s not. You can even take the collar and sleeve collars off and just have a lightweight sweater, the kind sales guy at Nordstrom informed me. Which is perfect because fall is all about layers and since these layers are fake, I can fake fall. It also feels very lady like with the tailored collar, no? I can fake being a lady, too — which is always a plus in my book. I found this Alice + Olivia sweater when I was picking up my last minute Nordstrom sale purchases (I made a few last minute decisions to buy before they turned to regrets) and a pair of jeans didn’t fit like they should. I ended up swapping them out for this sweater which was a nice exchange as I can see many fall days ahead with me and this sweater. I’m thinking a full midi skirt might be the next route I take with this sweater.

Though I guess when the weather is still warm the easiest way to transition from summer to fall is through colors. A little bit of a grey here, touch of black there and before we know it, it feels like fall.

  2. I love it with jeans but YES! to the midi skirt idea. That would look amazing. Or amazeballs…whatever the kids are saying these days.

  3. Another fav look! I love the purse! It's gorgeous. I am so ready for fall weather and fall fashion!

  4. Ok this might be one of my favorite outfits of yours ever. It's fake-fall perfection! Grey, black, gold…..I cant get enough.

  5. This look is so cute for the fall. I really like the long cropped or as they call it, high-line sweater. The new shorter length is really cute. I like that even thought it's a fall look, you're giving us a sliver/peek of skin. This look is clean & straight forward, love that. You look great.

  6. Ahhhh I think a midi would look amazing with this sweater. I'm all about faking fall these days, since I can't wait for rainbow colored leaves and pumpkin-spice-everything. This sweater is the perfect solution. And it's just a generally perfect sweater 🙂 xx

  7. We are totally in the same boat. We're in the peak of summer heat, yet I'm practically doing a rain dance for the first day of Fall. There's nothing quite like fall fashion, having the ability to layer things comfortably and make use of most of your wardrobe.
