I could have sworn today was Thursday. Isn’t that the worst? When you think it’s a lot later in the week than it is? Even B asked me this morning what today was (we like to quiz each other on simple things early in the day to judge the severity of the morning fog) and after a long pause, I had to look at a calendar to confirm it was in fact Tuesday and not the day before Friday.  At least it’s not Monday, eh?
I’m kind of stuck in the weird transition of seasons. I am so ready for fall weather (remember that here in Texas that just means anything under 80 degrees) as well as pulling out my fall clothes. But then again, I can’t let go of wearing white and brights just yet. Little pieces like this sweater kind of bring the best of both worlds — texture of fall, colors of summer. Am I the only person looking forward to fall styles? I think it started when I was a little girl — the lure of back to school shopping was the only thing that justified going back to school for me. I planned out my first day of school outfit for weeks. In fact, if I were going back to school this outfit might be a contender. Depends on the grade though — heels feel a little lofty for kindergarten.

  1. I sometimes wish I was going back to school. High school, not college. Having parents to still provide for me still, having a part time job and having a place to wear my beautiful clothes everyday and actually be seen. After becoming a stay at home mom, I stopped wearing makeup, and hanging out in comfys becomes the norm. Really am not complaining. Its just different then I ever imagined.

  2. Crap. I thought today was Wednesday. That sweater is definitely fall orange- I'm definitely ready for cooler temps and cute fall sweaters.

  4. my god, i thought this post was called "a pop of puppy" and though that sweater is amazing i can't say i wasn't disappointed.

  5. Those shoes and that bag are perfection! Love this look and the bright pop of color 🙂

  6. Love every detail, Kendi! I just purchased an Old Navy cardigan in Clementine, and I wasn't sure if the color would be as bright in person (as online), so I'm excited to get it in the mail now that I see it really is bright! Also, I hear ya about Fall. I live in MN where Fall comes too soon and is way too short, but it's still my favorite season 🙂

  7. You are not the only one ready for fall. I purchased this sweater recently and I'm ready to wear it. I'm in Michigan and it seems we are having our warmest (and most humid) weather of the season, ugh! I'm not trying to wish summer away, but 70 would be nice 🙂

  8. Killer shoes lady! I'm on the hunt for a few pairs of pointy-toed heels for the fall and I think these might make the cut. Pairing orange, white and black are the ultimate fall/transitional colors in my mind. You look great!

  10. omg you are hysterical. HA! I started grad school this week, and I was SO pumped to get new clothes and office supplies 😉 There is something about that back to school season… Love that sweater!

  11. This looks like such a great drapey sweater! I'm having a hard time letting go of summer styles too but am kind of excited about Fall as well! But I feel like I have too many pieces in my summer wardrobe still waiting to be worn!

  12. Twinsies! Sporting this same top today and I totally agree about looking forward to fall and being able to wear pants without sweating through them (live in South Carolina). Adore the wrap skirt with this top, too.
