The other day, I had to quickly run into Anthro for something very specific I had seen online. (Always be quick in there or they will suck you in like you are Alice in Wonderland and before you know it you are asking to live in the dressing room.) That’s right, I was on a completely different mission and this dress found me. It was misplaced on another rack not even near the other dresses, just hanging there in my size. If that isn’t fate, I don’t know what is. (Fate or human error — same thing sometimes.)

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they did this on purpose, placing similar things in one’s buying path when you aren’t looking. It’s like the online shopping widget — the “you might like this too…” suggested product that I always, of course, like and want because the internet knows me too well. Or perhaps someone else was trying to hide their size and put it on a rack halfway across the store and far, far away from the actual style. Because we’ve all been there. (If this is the case, I’m sorry girl, I didn’t know and I bought your size. ) Whatever happened, I put down the thing I came in there to buy and bought this dress instead. That’s the power of a good summer dress.

  1. Awww, I love that dress. I suddenly got some cute ideas on how to wear it. Try a cute straw summer purse and straw Western hat. That would be adorable. Or try that dress with skinny jeans and white converse sneakers, oh soooooo cute. I can just picture that dress with way too many possibilities. That dress is by far the best purchase from you this summer!!!!

  2. So flowy and romantic! Love it, and love those shoes. And seriously, can I live in the Anthro dressing rooms? Does anyone know? Because I will!

  4. For the love of God Kendi, please PLEASE stop with the neck-strain thing you do. It's not a very good look and you're much prettier without it.

  5. love this dress. Not sure what your other choice at Anthro was but you have a winner here. You look great.

  9. Totally guilty of hiding something in the racks and crossing my fingers that when I come back it will still be there. I did this at H&M once and as soon as I left, I peeked through the window and an employee (who must have been watching me) was putting it back where it belonged!

  11. What? She doesn't need to be a professional model to know that. I don't see models straining their necks to the enth degree, and she never used to do that.
