These are the skinny jeans that could and this is their story.

I’m home! And as much as I wish I could sum up our trip in one little post, I’ve got many many posts coming your way. Hope you’re ready for my version of a slideshow. 😉 So it turns out that jet lag is a real thing. I’m not sure if I’m sleepy, hungry or angry but so far I have felt all three emotions simultaneously. I’m thinking a nap is the only way to get through this — it seems like a sacrifice but I’m willing to try it.

Remember when I said that I was packing just one pair of skinny jeans for Europe and I had the highest of hopes for them throughout the trip? Well it is this pair I’m wearing and I’m happy to report they held up 100%. They still fit the exact same as the day I bought them, dare I say they might even fight a little better. They didn’t stretch, they kept their shape, even while traveling or walking miles and miles of pretty city streets. I’m actually kind of shocked. In fact when I went to put them on this morning, I had to remind myself that I’ve been wearing these non-stop for the better half of two weeks because they felt just as new. (These are the high-waisted pair I waxed poetically about a few posts ago.)
Is it too soon to buy another pair
Don’t answer that.

  1. Did you find your clothes got dirty fast over there? We went to London last year and I took a pair of skinny jeans + leggings and my jeans got seriously gross roaming the streets. Sounds like yours didn’t but I wonder what made mine so nasty, it wasn’t like i was rolling around on the tube. HA. Glad you had a great trip!

    1. Oh these are probably disgusting, there just aren’t any visible stains! I just tried not to think about it during the trip. It ended up being a lot colder than what was forecasted and what I packed for and so I pretty much rotated two pairs of pants the whole time. I couldn’t think about the dirty level at the time because these were all I had but it’s kind of gaggy now to think about it since we rode metro after metro…you better believe all of my clothes went straight into the washer the minute we got home 🙂

    1. I’ve never heard of that trick! I just kept wearing them and trying not to think about how dirty they were. Ha! Tell me about the shower refresh trick though…

  2. Cant wait to hear more about your trip. There is nothing like a great pair of jeans.

  4. There’s something about a good pair of jeans, huh? 🙂 I can’t WAIT to see your Europe pictures!! AH!

  5. Sure, buy another pair of jeans at that price and give them to a woman who has never owned a pair of jeans in her life, like over in 3rd world countries. I bet she would appreciate them, or just donate the money you would spend on those jeans to raise money for people with cancer or other health problems or to raise money for adoption for an infertile couple, such as with my sister. Our world needs more generosity, don't you think?

  6. Welcome back! We’ve all missed your blog posts! Just a quick tip… I have traveled a lot abroad and have found that spending time outdoors with your face in the sun is the BEST way to get over jet lag. Good luck!

  8. First of all, YES to Hudson! They’re one of my all time fave brands of denim and I totally agree, they hold their shape so well. Their stuff holds up, too. I’m STILL rocking a jean jacket of theirs (always on my blog, including my most recent post), and I’ve had it for years now.

Second, welcome home! It’s always bittersweet getting home, but jet lag is just brutal. The last time I was overseas, it stuck with me for like, a week.

  11. Can’t wait to see how you manage to dress cute while traveling through Europe! I’ve always been a hot mess in shorts, tanks and sneakers. Never attractive. And Hudson does make a great jean that keeps it shape, if only I kept mine and can still fit into my 26s. ohhhh sad day.

  19. Can’t wait for the posts and look at you looking put together even after a whirlwind vacation! Question for you, and I REALLY hope you answer, but I bought a pair of peep toe wedges similar to yours and my toes usually get all cut up. Do you have any soles that you wear or advice? I would LOVE a post about them. I used to be so good with heels then moved to Scotland and only wore flats for a year and now back to wearing heels and I’ve lost my groove 🙁 Thank you so much, Kendi! x

  20. Loved this Post ! You look great , Kendi ! Love from India <3
Looking forward to packing posts and, ofcourse, your Europe posts 😉

  29. I love the jacket! The only problem i have with hudsons is that that are usually too tight in the leg and then loose in the waist. I’m an AG girl. Looks adorable though!

  31. I love that jacket! Jet lag not so much. I really do understand. I visited Korea and Japan last year and it was like 13 hours difference for me. I felt so awful I thought I had the flu, but nope! Just jet lag! Fun. I’d tell you that naps only make things worse, but you’re probably adjusted by now, so my advice is irrelevant. Glad you had a good time and can’t wait to see a ton of pictures!

  32. Those other blazers aren’t similar at all, where is the original from? Thanks in advance.

  35. Ok, I saw this and immediately wanted to try some on. However, here’s the problem. I always need to buy talls. I am 5’8 1/2″ which is not outrageously tall, but I have to buy tall jeans/pants or things just don’t fit in the right place. I guess I have long legs, or a long rise, or a long something. I think you’re tall (right?!) so, how do you get these to fit!? And why doesn’t an expensive jean come in talls? (Help! I want pricey awesome jeans, but this is a problem. Any tips?)
