I saw this pin from my girl Katie yesterday and thought ‘done.‘ I had every single piece needed to make this outfit in my closet. (Except the ‘don’t hate me because i’m a bad ass’ vibe. That’s hard to find in stores. And Bryan lost his aviators so that option was out the door….so milk-braids it is!) Plus today there is some arctic wind blowing through town and I wanted to be prepared…I’m not sure what I’m preparing for with Heidi braids, a faux fur vest and a non-leather leather jacket, but I am ready.

The other day, this older lady in the store caught wind of my blog. So she asked me what blogs are, as she had never heard of them. She was in her mid-70s, super stylish and I thought well this lady would love style blogs! I’m going to blow her mind with the world that is blogging. So I went into this long, beautiful story of the history of blogging, how I started, how blogging has evolved, etc and when her eyes glazed over I realized this story might be a bit more esoteric than I realized. So I ended the story with something like “and so we just take photos of my outfits and I put them on the internet….yeah?” She looked at me and said “oh! is it like Pin-ineresting? i love Pin-interest.”

I just nodded. Me too, sweet friend. Me too.

  1. Love that story. So great because for some reason I thought it was said Pin-interest when I first heard about pinterest. What was I thinking haha

  2. my mom equates a facebook wall post with a blog post so each time her status updates she's excitedly asks if i saw her new blog post. she hasn't even discovered the black hole that is pin-interest so i think i may keep her sheltered a bit longer from it.
    LOVE the booties, btw.

  3. Haa..that story of the old lady.. perfection.. and I may or may not copy your outfit copying another outfit.. imitation is the most sincere form of flattery after all.. so, be flattered.. it's either this or I stay in my pajamas till it gets embarrassing… which is always an option.

  4. I'm kinda confused by this outfit.. Is the sweater on top of the jacket? Its probably not my favorite. But that's just me. 🙂 But that story was awesome, lol!

  5. LOL I love pin-interesting too! And old people. Sometimes. And this outfit. You literally can't go wrong in jeans, faux leather, and faux fur. You look like a bad ass, even in braids. 🙂

  9. Cute story!!! I find that happens to me a lot when I talk to my husband about fashion…his eyes…very quickly….glaze over…oh well his loss…then he misses out on how much I spent…ha ha!!!!

I am really loving the wash of your denim…super fab & just what I need to add to my closet for winter!!! I just scored some amazing mid wash Mother jeans on sale from Nordstrom that I am excitedly waiting the arrival of in the mail….I will literally never own enough pairs of jeans…the limit simply does not exist!

Also love the hair!!! I recently mastered the fishtail braid…which I was super pumped about…& blogged about it earlier in the week. You can never know too many handy go to, easy hairstyles!!!
