I wish this skirt photographed as pink as it really is. Obnoxious pink is what it really is and I love it. Can we talk about me and pink lately? I believe half of my closet is now pink. I wore my pink blazer and a pink button down (it was cute, trust me) to get my nails done the other day and just naturally I picked pink for my nails. There I was sitting there waiting patiently in my pink uniform, with my polka dot pink phone cover and my pink nail polish and I as I looked down I thought “my gosh — I’m that girl.” That girl meaning Lisa Frank. But grown up so I don’t need a unicorn to ride on anymore because I’m old enough to just drive my pink car. You better believe it has rainbows on it.

Of course camo is probably opposite of Lisa Frank so at least I can keep some of my dignity right?

  3. I have to admit I am not a huge fan of camo. BUT, i adore this look, it's tough looking pretty in pink-

  4. oh i loooove this combination.  when i first saw camo making a comeback, i simply said "no".  but you make it look so cute, i'd almost break my shopping diet to have one.  www.thismomsgonnasnap.com

  5. Hahah Lisa Frank! That brings back some memories – and I have the same love of the color Pink…but surprisingly that is a recent thing. Love the mix of tough camo and dainty pink. Looking good!

  6. lol! Love it! This skirt is darling – and I love that you're embracing your inner Lisa Frank – I hope you're handing out stickers to strangers. 🙂

  7. Love this outfit! Oh my gosh. Lisa Frank. She was my idol too – I think I had all her folder and binder collections in school. I even had a LF themed birthday party – it was the best day of my life

  8. One of my fave outfits of yours recently.  You've made up my mind that I definitely need that skirt in my life.  I was just thinking the other day I need more pink in my closet.

  9. I love that camo jacket. And I was the Lisa Frank girl in Elementary school. I had the "trapper keeper" with all of the pink and purple folders, pencils and notebooks to match. (^_^)

  10. I love the combination of pink and camo. It's great, and you look so pretty! Hah, and I know exactly what you  mean about pink– somehow, it's becoming a color I'm drawn to lately, too! I don't know why. I've never been a pink person. But it IS a good color.
    Happy Wednesday!

  11. I am obsessed with camo and pink right now! The pinker the better actually! I hate it when clothes don't photograph as bright or intense as they really are, sometimes it just completely looks different than real life!

  12. Love your outfit! Thanks for the styling ideas, especially because I just bought that exact skirt the other day and I have a chambray on its way to me as well 🙂 Great minds think alike.

  13. Love the mix of neutral, print, and color! Plus, easy layering we can all achieve! 🙂

  14. Oh my god, I am literally wearing that same skirt right this moment. She's not lying, everyone. It really is obnoxiously pink. OK so I'm having a dilemma because I was actually thinking of returning the skirt (I left the tags on) because it's very wrinkly after I've been sitting awhile. Yours doesn't look wrinkly at all though. Did you take these photos before you had it on very long? Did you Photoshop the wrinkles? Do you have some wrinkle reducing trick that I don't know about? I HAVE TO KNOW.

  15. Your pink on pink story makes me think of Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias, pink was her signature color (a favorite movie I might add). And what better way to toughen up a little pink than the addition of camo (yes, please).  Girly with a side of edge – love it!

  16. I LOVE pink so I am in full support of your skirt/outfit!

Also, when I first saw these photos I thought you were BAREFOOT and I was so very jealous – I'm from New Hampshire, so there's still snow on the ground right now!  I'm hopeful that warm weather will come soon enough, though!

  18. I have that same skirt (albeit in gray) and it never looks quite right on me! It looks fantastic on you – I shoudl pull it out again and try it with my chambray! Thank you for the inspiration!

  19. I've been all over pink lately, too.  It must just be a spring thing!  I think it's only Lisa Frank if you're adding in a little purple and teal, too… so you're still safe 🙂

  20. The camo jacket with the diamond details is so cute!! And don't worry, I LOVE pink too 🙂

  24. OMG I am obsessed with camo at the moment. Have my eye on a bunch of goodies after payday.

I love how you mixed the ultra feminine with the tough – a girl after my own heart. Also love the denim shirt –  a key item in my wardrobe.

Have I totally inflated your head now? I hope so 🙂

  25. Love this combination of the pink, denim and camo!

  26. This reminds me of "Steel Magnolias" when Shelby's talking about her wedding colors. Shelby: "My colors are blush and bashful." M'Lynn: "Her colors are pink and pink."

  27. This year around Christmas one of my coworkers broke out Lisa Frank stickers for our computer monitors. It might have been one of the best days of my life. I'm glad to see someone else is willing to join me on this. – J

  28. Hi Kendi,

Another terrific outfit! I just got that skirt in navy and I've found that I HAVE to tuck tops in – otherwise the gathered waistband makes my middle look very thick. Have you had the same experience? Any styling tips? I'm not much of a tucker these days and I wondering if it will limit the skirts' utility. Thanks!

  29. you are nothing like lisa frank! pops of color are great, and pinks look great on you! i do orange! whatever makes you happy, do it!! 😀 katejones.me
