If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that this week B and I headed to Vegas for a retail tradeshow for Bloom. While we are getting our buying on, I’ll also be guest posting for myself this week. I can be in two places at once, see? (Spoiler alert: I’m wearing a blazer in 3 out of 4 of my outfits this week. Blazers are my crutch, don’t judge me.)
I wore this outfit over the weekend. It was one of those things where I woke up and just wanted to get dressed up. Sometimes I just feel like being a business lady, which is good because that’s my vocation. They say dress for the job you want, I say dress for the job you have. Even if it’s on the weekend.

  1. Very chic and very professional! Love this look! So feminine and yet, down to business. And I'm all for crutches. You may have worn a blazer in 3 of the 4 outfits this week, but I have had a cadbury cream egg 3 out of the last 4 days. So I tip my hat to your better life choice crutch and judge not. hoping I can do the same for myself and this dang cream egg addiction. Tis the season, right?

  2. No judgment here! I LOVE blazers. They're my weakness. Your shoes are amazing! Are they comfy? You look great as a business lady. I'm so over the suits and skirt suits!

  3. This is so cute and I can see it as being totally perfect for a tradeshow.  It looks wonderful on you.  Sadly, as with SO MANY BCBG dresses, it's too short for my office environment….I spend most of the day seated at a desk, and people are always coming into my office…this would not work so well for that.  I really wish designers would realize that they would probably better be able to target the working gals if they made the lengths of their skirts just a touch longer.  Love the look!

  4. I was just thinking, wow, this is really dressed up for Kendi. I love it though! I love that the majority of what you wear is perfect for either work or the weekend, but this little gem was a nice surprise!

  5. Love the turquoise hidden beneath the lace and your gold chain necklace is the perfect addition!

  6. Sensational! You look like a Hollywood celebrity in this outfit! Watch out for the paparazzi 😉

  7. What size dress did you buy? How does it run? I love it!! I'm thinking of buying it!

  8. for whatever reason, you remind me of jackie o in this one. must be the blazer without lapels..

  9. The dress looks so lovely on you, and those shoes are really, really gorgeous. So elegant! I also love blazers, they make anything look put together. I really love the one you're wearing.

  10. I can't wait until it's warm enough outside to wear stuff like this! It's 20-ish degrees here today, so it's all skinny jeans and sweaters for now!

  11. Hy Kendi. I live in Asuncion Paraguay and I am your fan. I read you every day and thanks to you I can have a different view to get dressed.
I agree with your statement: "I say dress for the job you have."
I'm a lawyer so I have to dress formally, so in my weekend also I dress in the same way.

  12. Love the green (or is it blue) lace! Lace is supposed to be "in" for spring – and this is a fantabulous way to pull it off! I wish I could pull off the length though; I'd be scared to bend over to put books away 🙂

  13. Simply stunning! I'm always impressed by how you manage to make simple items look chic 🙂

  14. Love it Kendi! And don't worry, blazers are my crutch too. One of my go to outfits is "blazer and a dress" any and all types. 🙂 you look fabulous!

  15. I love everything about this.  Just the right amount of lace, edge, black, and of course, emerald!  Those heels are perfection and they mean business!  Stay out of trouble in Vegas! If that's possible — what an oxymoron!

  16. Wow, that jacket is something special. I adore the cut of it-the darting is just so sassy and fun! And that dress is oolala. I love the color of the underpinning. Such a classy lady you are!

  17. Oh I'd totally do business with you K! I totally agree with that saying, maybe that's why I always end up looking so overdressed, but whatever if you like it wear it! That dress is amazing!

  18. I love this look, but the first thing I thought of when I saw the dress is that it is way too short for an office environment. Maybe with black tights on it, you could get away with it. Wish I could do it though.

  19. wow, what a look, what a dress and oh my you got some pretty legs! The shoes are awesome as well, they make this the perfect outfit for a night out with your man! Love it! One of my favorites on you for a while!!
