This past weekend B and I had a little weekend getaway in Fredericksburg, Tx. Which basically means we went to a lot of wineries and ate a lot of cheese. I also caught up on trashy, reality tv in bed and stayed far, far away from the internet. (Well, with the exception of Instagram. Must. document. everything.) It doesn’t take a lot to make us happy. Although I must say I missed the internet and you guys. Even though cheese is an excellent distraction.

How was your New Years Eve? And even more importantly, how many resolutions have you made and broken so far? I’ve not broken a-one. Mainly because I’ve yet to make any. It’s hard to expect a whole year of self-improvement, no? That’s a heavy contract. So out of everyone you know, I will be the one not becoming a better person this year. Except I’ll probably join a gym and forget that I did in about two months. That’s always a given.

  1. Love your look! Which hotel did you stay at on vacation? …it had such a cool retro feel to it 🙂

  2. Ditto on the whole resolutions thing. I feel like resolutions are just doomed to fail. So I don’t make any. Problem solved, right?

P.S. Love the play on dots here and your beautiful brown accessories!

  3. love the dots! and the look on you! 🙂 I would also be satisfied with some wine and cheese. Sounds like a perfect holiday to me 🙂 I haven’t made any resolution yet. Don’t know if I should 🙂

  4. I love this cute casual look! Happy new years!

  5. I love this outfit, since Dressember I have been yearning for a chic selection of jeans, jumpers and boots. I may start a pinterest board (called ‘beyond Dressember’) and have this outfit on it as my first pin if that is ok by you?

Sounds like a delightful little trip you had, cheese is the best, I think I have eaten about 2kg of cheese since 20th December (no lie) I should be about 6 dress sizes bigger but cheese is the one thing I can hoover up and just about get away with it! Any excuse eh?!

  6. Love all the dot action today! And I made quite a few New Year’s resolutions, but tried to stay vague and small so that no one will know I’m not breaking them (wink). Happy New Year!Morgan

  8. Really like this outfit, very fitting for our weather over here. Its very Western meet city chic. So far I’ve only made 2 resolutions-to learn to drive and to ride a bike at the age of 22. Happy New Year.

  9. Love the layered dot look. I got some great dot sweaters from Old Navy this fall, so this will be a great new way to try them out.

  10. I’m a little late to the resolution game too! Glad to hear you had a nice relaxing holiday — underrated way to spend the holidays if you ask me!

And of course, I’m loving the dots on dots!

  11. Polka dots on polka dots? Genius! I’m glad to hear that you and B had a nice break with cheese and wine galore, as far New Years resolutions, I don’t have any… yet, I’m still deciding on what I really would want to see happen. Anyway, love your outfit and I can’t wait for another year filled with fun fashion!

  14. Fredericksburg is the best! I went there recently to do a wine tour with a bachelorette… classy-ish and so much fun. The night life was not to die for, but the lights were cool. Love the dots!!

  15. Beautiful outfit! I have just one thing that I have purposed to do, but it is more of a life-goal and less of a “New Year, better me” goal. 🙂

  16. hahaha, cheese is a fabulous distraction! so far so good on my resolutions… 1 day strong! 😉
Happy New Year!! p.s. love the dots on dots.

  17. Yep, I knew I wouldn’t stay with the whole “get fit, get healthy” thing so I broke it into two tiny little goals… 1) Stop going to Starbucks every. single. day. and 2) Drink more water! So far, so good although I practically had to drag myself away from Starbucks this morning! And cheese is the best distraction there is 😉 Glad you’re back!

  19. I love dots and dots on dots is twice as nice.  I enjoy your posts as much as your outfits.  No resolutions though I’m going to try to get more exercise that involves a little more effort than turning the pages of a book or operating the remote control.

  20. Happy New Year!

I’ve only made one resolution… to get dressed at least once on each of the remaining winter weekends. The snow makes me wish I owned a Forever Lazy, so I could be just that. That’s ambitious enough, right?

  21. Love the outfit. My new year’s eve was all right. I mostly spent the evening at home watching Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve Celebration while munching on pizza. As for resolutions, I haven’t made one yet either haha.

  22. Ooh, I love all of the polkadots, but that sweater in particular is SO pretty. It’s the perfect brown.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

  23. Lessons learned from Kendi today: Wine and cheese are always a good distraction, you can never have too many polka dots, and resolutions were made to be broken : ) I love your monogram necklace!

  24. Oh love the polkadots over polkadots! Wouldn’t have thought about it, what great idea!
I broke one resolution to eat healthier when I stumbled upon a bacon-wrapped hotdog ten minutes after midnight on January 1st. Did I mention bacon?

  25. dots on dots.  just love it.  and don’t worry about the resolutions.  we have so much time to make goals and fail.  doesn’t have to be all on one day 😉  http://www.thismomsgonnasnap.com

  57. I LOVE this outfit – every single element! You look adorable (not that this is a big shock, but especially adorable) I usually only like polka dots when I’m pregnant (no idea why) but I LOVE this.

  59. I absolutely love this outfit. I love the way you pair the polka dots with polka dots, I have both these items and never would have thought to put them together!!!! thanks for the inspiration

  60. I just got that madewell tote and I feel like I should weather proof it or something. Did you? If so, any products you recommend. I’m scared to ruin it! I like my bags to last me a long time

  63. I feel it very important to let you know that I have been stalking these boots for about a year, ever since I first discovered you wearing them last fall, and I finally bought the last pair in my size, online, last week and I’m kicking myself for living so long without them. If you understood the relationship I have with my boot collection, it would all make sense, but in any case, THANK YOU, and I hope you’re having a marvelous new year!
