I could write a love letter to this striped shirt I bought from Target back in ’10. Come to think of it, I just might. Hold that post, I’ll be back later for you complete with all the ways I’ve loved you just like a Taylor Swift* song.

Apparently I have a thing for cobalt blue this fall. I’m quite happy about the fact that it’s okay to wear bright colors this fall and winter. Well I suppose it’s always been okay to wear whatever you’d like whenever you’d like, but the odds of people sneering at me are lessened this season so that’s a positive. Although how could you have the heart to sneer at a girl who poses in an alley in a bright blue skirt? Exactly.

*Yes, I did just say Taylor Swift. A girl can have her guilty pleasures, ok?

  1. Obsessed with that gorgeous pleated skirt. And I have a striped tee I could seriously write a love letter to also – H&M '10 and I've been rockin' it ever since. It never lets me down. WeEEEEE are never, ever, ever, parting. 🙂

  2. I just wore my cobalt blue dress I got from Bloom in the spring last night.  Loving the color right now.  (And loving Bloom always!)

  3. I pretty much love all stripes, all the time.  And brights any time too!  That Madewell tote is too cute.  May have to check that baby out… (Umm and I love Taylor Swift and don't consider her a guilty pleasure… she's totally talented!)

  4. sing it girl! love this top too and the way you've styled it!

  5. There is no shame in loving T-Swift!

Also, I hope that top knot tutorial is coming soon! You are a master at making your hair look effortless when it's up. Whenever I try to put mine up it always takes about an hour and ends up looking like the way they would have forced schoolgirls in the 1850s to "style" their hair. So some pointers are certainly needed!

  8. I love that trench from Bloom! I really need to stop in one day, I love all of the pieces you wear from your store! I just recently purchased a black and white striped shirt myself and I don't know how I ever lived without it before! Great look!

  11. OMG – this is crazy…but I have that exact same Target shirt from 2010 too!!  And I am obsessed with it.  I now hand wash it because I don't want it to wear or fade anymore and they aren't making a similar style now!  Too funny 🙂  Love the way you styled it here – that second photo looks like it's straight out of a magazine!

  12. What size skirt are you wearing? I don't see a size chart on their website.
    Thanks!

  13. Heather — I'm wearing a medium and it fits a little bit loose. Not a bad kind of loose, the I can eat lunch and it's not tight kind of loose.

  14. Yes, I could see how that could be weird. I have this pesky widget that I don't know how to get rid of that links random links sometimes. So there you go — a random link from a random widget. 🙂 But I actually just changed it to go to her site, so it's not a weird link any longer.

  15. chic and pretty as always!:)

  21. It seems like Taylor's everyone's guilty pleasure these days. Can't she just be our unguilty-cuz-she's-talented-and-everybody-loves-a-love-song pleasure? I mean, you're wearing bright blue in Autumn, so I'd say there's hope yet.

  22. I like T-Swift too! I think I mostly want her hair … on my head. I can't ever stop wearing bright colors. Its against my religion or something.

  23. what a great skirt. and a black & white striped shirt makes everything better.

  24. I think I have that shirt from 2010 too! Actually I wear mine so much I'm a little worried I'll need to find a replacement soon! It will be hard for a new one to live up to that guy. Anywho, this looks great and I love that skirt. "It's the pleats." Anchorman? Anyone?

  25. Colors are super cute together. My only concern is that the skirt is not figure flattering. You have a beautiful figure, but the skirt does not show this. It does the opposite.
