{Maxi: Bloom | Scarf: Madewell or here | Flats: J.Crew | Sunnies:  c/o Coach}

Sorry for the radio silence yesterday, we took a day off from work which meant a day off from getting dressed. First day in a while that I didn’t shower (well — a day I didn’t shower and didn’t feel guilty about it). And man, was it lovely. However I realized pretty early on that I don’t have a good pair of sweat pants to my name. And we all know that is an essential to a day off as is coffee, naps and naps. What have I been doing these last three years in which I forgot to buy comfy sweat pants? Writing a style blog and opening a store is not a legitimate excuse. But me not hanging out in the athletic section of any store probably is.

Remember from my NYC post I mentioned about the comfiest flats ever? It’s these.  I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath for that link. Also who knew you could wear ballet flats with a maxi? Genius.

  1. Cute outfit Kendi. So I would never have bought them for myself but i have a pair of  (enter your football team here) black sweatpants that just have their logo on the top grey band and they are the best sweatpants i have ever owned, highly recommend.

  2. i've been playing around with my scarves as headwear and i end up looking like a laborer or very disheveled hobo. can you please do a tutorial of some kind for wannabes like me?

  3. The first thing I thought when I saw these pictures was, BONJOUR!!! I love this look! And I too love not showering and not feeling guilty. Get it girl!

  4. I love that you still rock that shirt from target.  I own it and wear it all the time.  don't you love when target does something that you can wear forever?

  5. I love this to death. I'm thinking this outfit was just as comfy as your nonexistent sweatpants…am I right? But yeah, you do need some sweatpants. I'm wearing some right now but you can't have them.

  6. I really need to start wearing maxi skirts in the fall. Your outfit is a great reminder of how good they look regardless of the season!

  7. Cute!  They look super comfy.

I don't have a decent pair of sweats, either.  I cross my fingers every time I walk into Goodwill that they'll have a cute VS pair in my size.  No luck yet!

  8. Hey Kristene — my skirt isn't from Target but you never know, you might find a similar style there. And my top was from Target about two years ago, but they usually keep basics like this in stock throughout the year. Best of luck!

  9. I was just thinking today "I can not believe this shirt has held up for this long!" Which is good because I am hard pressed to find a similar one for when this girl's time comes.

  10. SO agreed about the flats!! seriously they're the only shoes I own that are totally comfortable to me.

  11. Love the striped and the pop of red!

  12. Is that the top and scarf you wore with the sweater last fall (so specific, I know)…but that combination has been burned into my brain because I love it so hard.

  13. Love this cute outfit, I have an abundance of sweats…that probably is also a problem 🙂

  14. I love the pops of red in this outfit.
If you are getting new track pants I would go with roots, super comfy!

  15. Kendi I never thought you could wear flats with a maxi, but you just changed my mind! Looks so cute and I love your scarf/flats!

  16. Love the flats+maxi look! Great outfit lady 🙂

  17. I love wearing flats with maxi skirts-also boots too! Cowboy boots might be my favorite 🙂 and YES sweatpants are a MUST HAVE!

  18. Kendi you look very Parisian today (thank you, North American perceptions). Therefore, it is completely appropriate that I`m reading this blog post while studying for my French oral. I`d like to think this counts as the cultural component. J'aime ta jupe, Kendi! (Aussi, tes chaussures, t'echarpe..toutes les choses!)

  19. This outfit is absolutely fabulous! Oh my gosh!

  20. I love how you paired the stripes of black and white with red…so Parisian chic!

  21. So weird! I have been so happy with mine, they look just as good as they did when I bought them a few months back and I wore them all over New York! I guess it's just different for everyone 🙂

  22. Loove this look. And that scarf! I think you need to show my how you tied it. Mine never looks quite as perfect!

  23. I love this look! It's easy chic. I'll have to put something like this together for myself. Yes Kendi…I will steal you look (^_^)

  24. I need those shoes!  I just realized (the hard way- walking for MILES through downtown Atlanta this week) that I don't own comfy flats, or ones that I would really consider stylish.  Mine are just utilitarian, and what a shame. 🙁

I think I have Barbie feet anyway- they are just made for heels, so I really have no idea what to do with flats.  But these are super cute, and if they are as comfy as you say, well that's all the more reason!  Thanks for the tip!
