Sorry for the quick break. That apology is more like a sorry I'm not sorry kind of apology. We were in Austin over the weekend to shoot a wedding and we stayed a day later. We stayed for two reasons: 1) because Austin is the greatest city ever and 2) I am so sore after shooting a wedding that there is nothing that I can do besides sit and have food brought to me. I am not kidding -- shooting a wedding is like doing lunges and push ups for ten hours straight. (What I would imagine working out would feel like.) In heels, by the way. Why heels? Because I am ridiculous. That's why.
As you can tell, I really wanted to blend in today. I just didn't want to be noticed, so I went with my quietest outfit. There is just something so soothing about animal print and neon yellow, no?
___
PS: On Friday there will be a giveaway for Ily Couture, the shop behind my fab necklace!
If this is a quiet outfit, I'm afraid of what a loud outfit would be! I am the same way when it comes to wearing heels. I know I'll regret it later on but I don't care. I always end up suffering after.
This may be one of my favorite outfits you've done in a while! Not to say I don't love all your outfits, but this one makes me want to rip that skirt off of you and fight you until the deaths. Just kidding.... No seriously, hand over that skirt!
I've heard such great things about austin, I have to add it to my must visit cities!
Throw on a pair of oversized sunglasses and people will ignore you left and right. Okay, maybe not ignore you, they may still stare, but I promise they won't bother you :)
Wellll don't you look fancy and professional?! And I thought a while back you said you were under doctor's orders to alternate heels and flats? I've been seeing a lot of heels, young lady.

remember the live action Flinstones movie? remember how halle berry is in it as the sassy secretary and she always wears leopard print? yesss. you have opened the floodgates of my 6 year old world.
This post just made me giggle. You wanted to blend in with your neon yellow and animal print. Lol. LOVE that skirt. Everything about this outfit just screams gorgeous.
Shooting a wedding is probably the most fun workout! You don't even realize you're working out, right?
Meg @MissMegasaurus:twitter www.glamoroushustle.com
i love the look ... bright and fantastic! and I know what you are saying about being sore after shooting a event, crazy right?!?! Jess www.jesscauseblog.blogspot.com
I am new to your blog and really missed your Monday post. Do we get to see wedding pictures? You always look fabulous! Thanks for inspiring creativity in my closet!
Haha, I'd totally say that you're doing a fabulous job of blending in today, what with that bright yellow and fierce skirt. That necklace reminds me of the J. Crew bubble necklace, which I'm now putting on my want/going to get immediately list. Do you have a southern twang? I hope that's not a ridiculous question, but I was thinking about the fact that you live in Texas and all.
I assist my husband in shooting weddings too but I never know what to wear! I need something cute that I can move (er, run) around in that doesn't get in the way (or blow up and give a show to guests). What do you usually wear?
It's so unfair that I got them last year on the clearance rack at Target. I never saw them again! They are knock offs of an old Seychelles style though, so it might be worth looking around ebay for those!
haha Matthew always HATES when I make him take photos before dinner. He's like now I'm all sweaty and gross! You and Bryan definitely get a good workout in. I can only imagine the pain after a wedding! poor Skeens!
Kendi... you and your husband are wonderful and you did such a great job at the wedding!! We all loved working with you, hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay!
Love! Yellow is my favorite color ever, I wear it all the time. This look is great on so many levels. It's so bright and cheery, plus it looks extremely professional.
Yes, what a soothing outfit! Haha. I love this ubiquitous statement necklace. I love statement necklaces, period. That's what my most recent post is about: http://earnestyle.blogspot.com/2012/08/why-i-statement-necklaces.html Gorgeous wedding photos by the way. Your clients must have been so happy!
Omgoodness dont even get me started. After my first photoshoot ever for an indian wedding {which are 3 days long} I basically had to unscrew my legs and throw them in a tub of hot water to soak because the rest of me couldn't move a centimeter. I did my first one in brand new platforms that were not broken in yet... ouch. Now I have awesome thighs haha
Haha, "soothing" might not be the word I'd pick...but "stunning" would be an alternative :) You look so chic and put together...and I love yellow with black/white. <3 Cambriajupefashion.blogspot.com
This outfit is perfect! I adore that skirt, I naturally went to Loft right away, but I'm guessing it's old? Anyway, love everything about it! Another winner, Kendi
I have that skirt! And if I had a quarter for every time sometime complimented it, I could buy Loft and own all their skirts! Love your style, and hope I have it too :)
ooh la la! the yellow top is so lovely!
