If you visited Miss Vinyl Ahoy’s blog from our swap on Friday, then you’ve seen this outfit before. But maybe, just this once, you can pretend that you didn’t see it and act surprised. Just like you’ll have to act at your surprise birthday part next week. Oh, you didn’t know about that? Sorry, just act surprised.
Well I don’t know about you guys but I broke my personal record for how many meals I can eat in a twenty-four hour period. (It was six this year). That was without a nap, too. It was a Thanksgiving miracle. Then we woke up at 3:45 a.m. and went Black Friday shopping. Before you start hurling “I thought you weren’t supposed to shop?!?!” insults at me, I had two very important people I needed to shop for: precious nephew 1 and adorable nephew 2. If you saw these two kids, you’d wake up early and stand in lines to get a few toys for a few dollars off. So if buying toys for my nephews is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
(Do you see what I did there? I used your emotions against you and now you are on my side. No worries, there was no personal shopping unless you count a HUGE coffee for me and some warm socks for my husband. Do you see what I did there? I used your emotions against you again. You should have seen that coming.)

  1. I loved your blog swap with Suze! That was such a fun and innovative way to spread the word about her great blog, especially since you were styling the same top! I also love what you're doing here with those snappy red jeans/heels combo. Yum.

  2. I loved our swap! 🙂 And I love this outfit too (I felt weird commenting on my own blog, so I figured I'd wait until you posted it!! 🙂

I did go shopping yesterday too, but it was for my sister. My husband bought me a dress for christmas, but I didn't buy it! I just told him what I wanted 🙂 SO doesn't count…

  3. This was the first year in a while that I completely skipped all the Black Friday craziness. But I don't have two adorable nephews to motivate me…

I love your outfit! There's something so chic about black and white stripes paired with red.

  4. Your Jedi mind tricks are fooling me at every turn. This is a problem.
Your outfit, on the other hand, is perfect, even if I have seen it before.

  5. Love the outfit!! I am always drawn to red pants but had no idea what to pair it with and not come out looking like a crazy person, LOL. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. you are funny. hope you got a good deal on toys for them. My son still has NOT decided what he wants from Santa so we are waiting. Love the outfit. I like that it is tomato red and not bright red.

  7. I love your outfit!! I work at Nordstrom and I am one of those girls that will take forever to get dressed because I think I have "nothing to wear." Working at a highly fashionable store can be stressful, but I have to remember, to create my own style too and not always follow every one else. I scrolled down and read that you said to "window shop" and this is what I am going to start doing, AND I will be shopping my own closet! My sister, best friend and I are starting your 30 for 30 January 5th! I am so excited, yet nervous at the same time! I hope I make it!! XOXO.

  8. I did red, white and blue myself yesterday, celebrating British colonialism because we don't get fireworks…except on Bonfire Night when we remember the time the Houses of Parliament didn't get blown up lol.

It looks cute though, really bright and cheerful.

  9. Not going to lie, when I saw the post in my feed, I was all, "uh, either Kendi dyed her hair or I should go get my glasses!" But that was cool, it was a nice surprise.

And I totally want those pants!

  10. Too cute! I think those stripes are seasonless and chic anytime of year! When I first looked at the pic, I thought, "She must be SO cold! Where's her jacket?!" Then I felt weird for channeling my mother . . and then I remembered you're down in TX, so it's probably not as cold as it is up here in DC! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!

  11. I totally adore this outfit, the stripes and the red pants are just so perfect together. And those shoes, they are fantastic as well!

  12. This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work.

  13. Il ya évidemment beaucoup de choses à savoir à ce sujet. Je pense que vous avez fait quelques bons points dans les reportages également. Continuez à travailler, excellent travail!

  14. Straight to the point and well written! Why can’t everyone else be like this?

  15. Vielen Dank für die tolle Information! Ich würde nicht anders entdeckt haben!
