I was bound and determined to make this outfit work today. Why? Because I wanted to be comfortable, that's why. And what's more comfortable than a shirt that doesn't touch your body? Nothing. Well maybe a recliner or a hammock or a velour pants suit. But other than those three things -- nothing. Anyways, I couldn't figure out if I should go belt-less or with a belt -- turns outs the belt adds just the right amount of ...beltiness. I don't know what it adds, I was trying to sound cool. It just looked better that's all.
I got my shoes at Target, you guys, for $24. I'd been eyeing the Steve Madden ones that were about 3 times the price when I had just innocently walked into Target and found these genuine pleather clogs. Let me warn you though -- they may be cheap and trendy but I'm very afraid of falling to my death in those heels. There is not much there to support this 5'9" frame. I feel like I'm walking on little barbie doll legs. Which let's be honest, never works out the way you want it to.
(Also -- don't go out and try to find these pants at Banana Republic. I got them 3 years ago for $20. They'd kick you right out if you asked for that kind of deal.)
Wow, I'm impressed Target made such cute shoes! Actually, most of my shoes come from there so I guess I should understand it now :D I was there earlier today and I'm glad I didn't walk down the shoe department. It could have gotten ugly.
This outfit is so great! Looks super comfy...not sure if the heels are comfy but they look great!! Everytime I see your outfits, I want to run right out and buy something like it, sad but true! :)
I love all your leather-colored accessories today. I have a Target obsession, but I have yet to find shoes that I found comfortable there, so you'll have to give us an update on how these fared for your feet besides giving you the stilts effect!
This outfit is so simple, but it looks AMAZING on you. Honestly, it's so flattering! Those shoes are great, and this post makes me want to run right to Target and buy them...except that our Target is closed right now, so I guess the shoes will have to wait for me until tomorrow, at least. :)
This outfit looks so comfy and chic...I think switching out the bag would change up the look completely (i like your slouchy for laidback, but i could also see it with a structured bag for a more work-ish feel).
I've been looking for cute clogs that are affordable EVERYWHERE...I guess I'm going to have to try my local Target..I doubt I can walk in those though :P
I love this outfit... hooray! So super cute. The clogs are perfect because you can see if you even like them before spending a ton on them. yay for Target!
Well, mission accomplished! It works! Never thought black, gray, and brown would look good together. You make neutrals work! Now if you'll excuse me, I must copy your outfit. :o)
All of the pants I own from Banana Republic have cost me less than $25. The best time to find them are during the July 4 sales. It just involves a little happy hunting and digging. So, it's still quite possible to get that good a deal there!
You guys -- My purse is from Gap a few years ago. It was one heck of a deal. I wrote about it here: http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/2010/07/there-is-nothing-cool-about-number-14.html
Anon -- thanks for the tip! I've wondered in there a few times lately and you're right they do have some great sales. My eyes just want the full-priced things ;)
So, so simple but you look incredibly chic in this casual outfit. I love the gray, black and tan combination and the necklace adds just the perfect amount of sparkle.
I love that the belt is off-center too, that's a subtle but great touch!
You seriously find the best shoes at Target - can you please sprinkle some of your Kendi-unbelievable-deal-on-Target-way-too-cute-shoes magic dust on those of us who live in Northern VA? Please and thank you!
Kendi those shoes are freaking amazing!!! I MUST HAVE A PAIR. Yep I'm so excited that I felt it necessary to write in caps... even though it now looks like i'm yelling at you. lol.
I thought I read it wrong, but your shoes was indeed from target! I have a black one from Steve madden. Wow what a find! Aaah I wish there's a target here in Juneau!
Wow what a great find at Target. I have to say that when you mention you feel like you have no support when walking, has reminded me that I have to walk to my car and am asking myself if I will make it there with the SHOES I AM WEARING:..
I like the beltiness. Also, I love those pants. I will say, though, that I routinely find impossibly cheap things at Banana. I am a clearance rack fiend.
As soon as I saw the pics I thought, that's weird, I was just in BR looking for some pants like that and didn't find any! Then I saw the last sentence. Good thing you warned us!
