7.07.10dQ: What is black, white and tight all over?

A: My skirt.
Do not buy a skirt a size down thinking that it will be okay. It won’t be okay. What will happen is you will suck in so much that you will bust an organ and you will internally bleed to death. Or worse, you will show up to a department meeting looking like Peggy Bundy had she followed her dream to be a nine-to-fiver. And then you will bust an organ and die. Doubly so if you buy that tiny skirt in leopard print.
I’ve had a few emails and comments asking about the time constraints on this 30 for 30 challenge. Guys, guys, guys — there is no real time limit to this challenge. It’s simply putting together 30 outfits out of 30 items. No worries if it happens in 30 days or if it happens in two years. However, if it takes you 2 years to remix 30 items, I might have to disqualify you, meaning you won’t get a participation ribbon at the end of the challenge.

  1. It doesn't look too tight so it must all be in your mind! I actually changed for date night so that's 4 outfits down already! Yippee!
    p.s. why the B?

  2. Even if your fabulous leopard print skirt is a bit too tight for your liking, it still looks AMAZING! Leopard is my favorite print, and while I would not normally go for black and white leopard, this outfit has inspired me to rethink that! The teal really pops with the black and white. Love it.

  3. Thought that skirt was in navy when I checked it out at Loft. If you need to pass it on, I know someone who will give it a nice home. Better yet, trade for an anthro skirt.

  4. i love the first pic of you with the sunglasses! tres tres chic. and wow the print of the skirt is bold! can't wait to see how else you will style it.

  5. I love your combination of turquoise and red! I used similar colors in my outfit for today and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely!

  6. I really like how bold your outfit is without being TOO bold… Um. That was extremely contradictory. I like the bold and simple pattern on the skirt with the solid colors elsewhere. Ha, ha. Also, I don't think your skirt looks too tight or anything, it seems to fit just right! But then I'm not the one wearing it. And you're totally right about not buying things that are a bit too small… UGH. Even if it's cute, you won't wanna wear it..!

  7. Wow! you're doing it again! I haven't checked your blog for some time and what a surprise!! And so many remixers!! Great!!
You might have me on your next one (if there will be one!) since I am a bit late for this one (what a lame excuse! ;)) and I like my freedom in clothing in the summer (lame again, I know! ;)). Fall sounds good to me for this kind of challenge! 😉
    Anyways, good luck!
And I really love this outfit! The skirt is great and the color combo as well! <3
And the first one was too cute!! <3

  8. Haha, I've written abiut Peggy a ton on my blog – she has mad style!

And I actually have a post cued up professing my love for Mrs. Roper … the universe is sending out signals again – it must be controlled by Larry Dallas.

  9. I love the combination of red and turquoise with this leopard print! I also love that you chose a background that allows you to stand out against it. You look great.

  10. Internally bleeding isn't good, but at least it's not messy. You'd also die looking good if that's any relief . . . for the record though you don't look uncomfortable or like your bleeding internally just very chic and put together.

  11. like my mother always told me, "you have to suffer to be beautiful". That skirt doesn't look tight at all, it looks grrrrrreat!

  12. I like the tiny leopard print skirt. I hear you on a too tight skirt though. Mine was a little tight yesterday too and it HURTS to wear it! 🙂

  13. I'm guessing you didn't buy the skirt a size too small, because clearly you have not busted an organ and bled internally to death.

I love the color combo. As much as I'm looking forward to seeing your creativity in outfits, I'm also looking forward to seeing your creativity in naming all of your posts with numbers!

  14. Omgah you are so cutes! You look as if you're in Italy, strolling the streets. Do not confuse that with "doing the stroll on the streets." That's a diff blog altogether! A nsfw one.

  15. I picked me up some Peg Bundy leopard-print leggings this weekend. Meow.

I think the skirt is fab, and so perfect with those brights.

  16. The leopard and green both pop against each other! OH man, this is going to be an amazing 30 outfits, I can feel it Kendi!

  17. You are looking so so pretty Kendi! And no way you are talking about that current skirt being too small for you, right? It looks perfect from where I sit 🙂 Good luck with the rest of your outfits!

  18. Adore this outfit – the colors are amazing and work so well together! Bravo for Day 3!!

And I hope there is no internal bleeding from the too-tight skirt – I would dearly, dearly miss your blog 🙂

    Small Time Style

  19. Love it! I am so excited about the 30 for 30, which may be a little odd since I am not even participating in it. Maybe later I'll throw my hat in the ring for a bit.

  20. Kendi that skirt is definitely not too tight! Honest!! I think it's soo cute and you look fab! I think I might just need to get that anthro tank

  21. I lurve your outfit ten-fold! It's adorable. And your comment about starting a blog and it's a girl – well, you just summed up my life, so I am happy to have found your blog!

  22. Great little outfit! I would like to join the challenge please. I thought I had commented before but obviously didn't. I shall be starting tomorrow and look forward to the challenge!! Bring on the remix. I am following you and will be adding your button in tomorrows post too!!

    Thanks for this great challenge!

  23. It's so funny to see this post because I almost bought this skirt over the weekend (I mean everything was 40% off – I was pretttty tempted) but they didn't have it in my size. I almost bought it anyways, but then couldn't decide between the size smaller or the size larger. This is like the universe's way of telling me kudos on resisting the skirt.

That said, I don't think this skirt looks to tight on you, nor do you look like Peg Bundy. You look adorable (although an x-ray of your organ damage may prove me wrong…)

  24. Even if it is too tight and your organs might explode/burst, I still think this outfit looks great. I love the color of your top, and you are a lucky girl to have a friend who would give you such an awesome bag! (I love the color of it too).

  25. From the pictures that skirt doesn't appear Peg Bundy at all 😉 However, I have been stuck in the one size too small pencil skirt dilemma, and it definitely is not pretty….and sucking your stomach in all day is seriously uncomfortable…

  26. love the skirt! seriously almost bought this at LOFT…hope it's still there in 30 days!

  27. Wow! I would have never put those colors together but they look fab! Must copy immediately… Also, where is your necklace from? So sweet 🙂

  28. your #3's my current fave! it has all the right color combination, it looks very cheerful, perfect for you:)

  29. So, upon first reading, I thought it said "bust an orgasm," and I thought, "Wow! That is some kind of skirt." Then I slowed down, reread and realized the error of my ways. Either way, that skirt is killer. I want I want I want. Definitely my favorite look of the week!

  30. I really love this outfit–especially that fresh color with the skirt and the accent colors of belt/purse. It looks fantastic!
