I’ve been a bit obsessed with these cloth headbands I’ve been wearing. (Again, the no shopping thing is really taking a toll on my brain.) They probably aren’t even cool, but I just keep wearing them. Take that, society and trends.

I shouldn’t have been so hard on the number 17. It was the very lucky recipient of a Zac Efron movie. Not every number is as lucky as 17, you know.

I felt very Parisian in my outfit. Of course the closest I’ve ever been to Paris, is driving through Paris, Texas. Same name, but maybe not exactly the same thing. So what do I know? This outfit could be the furthest thing from what people in Paris (France or Texas) wear. But I did use a french accent all day, just to further my case. I looked all around our town for a chocolate crossiant and a bistro but no luck. Just a chocolate donut and a Subway. Fair enough.

Have you found this dog yet? My whole neighborhood is counting on you.

  1. The entire blogging community is going to start wearing cloth headbands like this just because Kendi wears them. ๐Ÿ™‚

Whether anyone else thinks they're cool or not, I think they're adorable on you!

This whole outfit is fantastic. I love the pops of red, the stripes, the straight skirt. Gorgeous!

  2. I love everything about this outfit. And I agree with Melissa, all the new posts will feature cloth headbands!

I have trouble finding headbands to fit my strange shaped head, but when I do find one that fits I wear it all.the.time. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I had to comment today since I love love LOVE stripes + headbands but my haircut is kind of weird in a way that hairbands always seem to slip off 10 secs after I put them on…

Anyway, looooove the parisian flair! PS. totally know what you mean about only subway + donut shops… I spend my time in San Saba, TX half the time and seriously the only food options are BBQ, Mexican food, everything/anything fried, sonic, subway and donuts!! Not even a HEB or Walmart… ๐Ÿ™

  4. You've outdone yourself! That headband is incredibly flattering on you. It adds just the right touch to make you UNBELIEVABLY adorable (as opposed to just plain ol' adorable). ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Gorgeous. So simple yet so stylish.

I feel a bit like a gypsy today but if I went around talking in a gyspy accent I'm pretty sure the only people that would understand me would be fans of the movie Snatch.

  6. It doesn't seem Parisian to me… It seems kind of house-wife-ish. I think it's the headband-thingy.

I apparently like describing things like this-ish.

    At least you look cute!

  7. the cloth headbands are cute ๐Ÿ™‚ your lucky you can pull one off. they look horrid on me. and paris, texas is much better than paris, michigan. unless they have a miniature eiffel tower too?

  8. As you have no doubt decided from the multitude of other compliments on your hair, the cloth headband is definitely cool. It should stick around for awhile yet.
And the more you wear those shoes, the more I love them. I'm glad they got to be included in the remixing.

  9. Paris or not – the outfit looks great ๐Ÿ™‚

My dog Layla told me to tell you that if you stand outside and bark incessantly, dog white poodle will come to you. But, it will only work if you bark in front of passersby.

Oh, and she also says come check out my current headband giveaway ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I have this same shirt and wear it with a dark red skirt. I always think of it as my Paris outfit and daydream about standing in front of the Eiffel tower.

  11. You look so chic. The headband look suits you. Looks kinda retro. I love your blog more and more everyday. Thanks for the inspiration. Are you on Chictopia? You should be. I'm "shoppher" there.

  12. I dunno if those headbands are cool or not, but it looks so pretty on you! Keep 'em up, I say.

And I know it's really inappropriate (cougar much?), but I'm in lust with Zac Efron. He sings, dances, acts and sure is pretty…swoon…

  13. i love this outfit! will definitely be stealing… er, 'paying homage' ๐Ÿ™‚ …tomorrow. (and now with my outfit picked out, i can sleep for an extra 10 minutes. score!)

  14. Love this outfit Kendi! It's so cute, and the red pops totally make it. Meanwhile, i wear those cloth headbands too – trends be damned, they freaking adorable!

  15. I love this! The width of that headband is perfection. Especially paired with the stripes.

And I can see why those shoes are among your favs.

  16. I may have died. The stripes, the skirt, the headband, the "dog white poodle" reference when I had JUST RECOVERED FROM THE FITS OF LAUGHTER! Great look.

  17. i love this outfit! and you're lucky to be able to pull off those cloth headbands — on my head, they just look weird for five minutes and then fall off.

  18. Kendi you look fabulous!!! I covet those shoes but sadly UO never carries shoes in my tiny size 5 :o(

  19. How do you do it every time!? Another adorable and so perfectly put together outfit! Love it! And your cloth headband!

  20. when I lived in southern California people used to joke about going to this town called Perris, pronounced the same way. Except it was a sad town :-/

Paris the real deal is very pretty and magical! only been once, cant wait to go again!

you look like you walked right out of the Mad Men set!

  21. The pops of coral from the belt and shoes are so wonderful in this outfit. And this definitely strikes me as Parisian (though I haven't been anywhere in Europe, so what do I know?).

  22. This outfit made my smile, I used to own that very pencil skirt from the gap and wore it to death. But it was the first pencil skirts I would wear anywhere, since then the khaki pencil skirt has come to be an irreplaceable part of my life.

  23. Hello, this is my first time commenting on your blog.

  26. Very cute outfit and I LOVE the headband! I wear something similar to run, but I may have to graduate them to work wear!

And I will also openly admit that I saw 17 Again on a plane and kind of loved it. *phew* I feel better knowing that's off my chest and I'm no longer living a lie!

  27. Ain't no shame in a cloth headband. I wear em' all the time! I love the little pops of coral, I think they make the outfit. ๐Ÿ™‚

  28. Ok so… I have that shirt, and a tan skirt similar to yours…so basically I am copying you tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚ I might even throw in a headband or good measure.

  29. LOVE THIS ONE! You look darling. A little like you need a bike and a baguette, but darling all the same. Might have to copy this one down to the headband ๐Ÿ˜‰

  30. i love it! somehow the striped top and shirt looks effortless and chic! i'm in love with those heels!!

  31. I love the background you chose, the walls, even the colours of the curtains match your outfit!

And the outfit is gorgeous, like everyone else has already pointed out =)

  32. I ABSOLUTELY love your outfit. You know, Paris, Texas actually does have a mini Eiffel Tower with a red cowboy hat on top. It's true. My aunt and uncle live in the boonies out there ๐Ÿ˜‰

  33. maybe one day, when you turn 21, you will go to Vega$ and walk past the Paris hotel & casino in your pretty TX inspired outfit.

  34. I once had a French friend who actually did rock the striped tees. It made me very happy. Granted, he was an ex-pat living in Sydney, so perhaps it was nostalgia kicking in for him…but I'll take it as validation of the stripes!! Super-cute outfit :).

  35. I'm very late to the party on this one but think I may start this on August 1. Is that ok? I love the idea and due to some rather liberal spending on my credit card this month need at least a month with no shopping!! Love your Parisian inspired outfit!! Love the shoes!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  36. DAMMIT those UO heels are the best things ever. EVER. EVER! And I can't buy them because of my gosh-darn shopping ban! ๐Ÿ™

  37. This may well be my fave outfit of your 30×30 remix.
I like the stripes and nude skirt and red shoes.
Kendi Everyday you are way cool ๐Ÿ™‚
