Remember when I was being resourceful with my creativity and I made my own maxi dress from the contents of my closet? And you all thought I was so fantastic and thrifty? And I was like "why spend money when you can make your own? Look at me everyone -- I'm awesome!" Remember those days?
Well the time has come for you to know something about me. If you put something in front of me that used to cost $78 and now costs $14, I will throw out all of my principles, morals and values and I will buy that item. In other words, I bought a maxi dress. My name is Kendi and I am a sale-aholic.
But you guys, this little dress was just sitting in a lonely corner with no other dresses like it around. Her self-confidence had been slashed each time she was tried on and left on the dressing room floor. And then she kept getting marked down -- first 10%, then 25% and then by 90%. It was all I could to buy her and throw on a belt and wear her. Can't you see? I'm just trying to save the world, one cheap dress at a time.

from one crafty gal to another - it's not always efficient to be crafty. It probably works out better to get a dress like this at 90% off and save your resourcefulness for another projects! Plus, it's impossible to regret a 90% off purchase (unless it turns out to be truly hideous!!)
Oh the sales. Why oh why am I on a shopping ban? I will now have to experience them vicariously through you. I think we need more clothes, so get shopping. (Sorry to be a bad influence).
saving the world one sale at a time? bawahwah! you are freaking AWESOME even if you didn't save your $14! i hit that sale too and lets just say... um, that boyfriend blazer that used to be marked $98 and i was honestly just waiting for it to go on ONE mark down...it was $35 at that sale. i think i just saved a whale or something like that?

I get really worked up over a good sake myself! Who wouldn't snatch up a super good deal when it's practically free... see? I rationalize a lot. Lovely photos.
I have the same problem as well. The other day I went to Macy's and found a shirt I was purchasing actually ended up being under $4--so what did I do? I headed back and picked up a few more (in different styles that I didn't try on) because--seriously $3.50!?!
Yay for saving the world. And neglected maxi dresses. They are the perfect "it's the weekend and I don't want to put forth effort but I haven't given up on life" outfit.
Love it! Now I'm going to have to hit up the Gap. I've been avoiding all stores because I'm not allowed to buy anything...and did I mention I work in retail!? :)

i think most of us are the same way with sales. love the look! perfect for a spring/summer day. your blog is such a great source of inspiration :) the flower in your hair is probably my favorite part!
