This is the conversation I can imagine that you are having right now.

you: “Oh no.”
someone else: “What?”
you: “She’s wearing the Minnie Mouse scarf again.”
someone else: “Who? That weird blogger girl you read?”
you: “Yes. That’s three times in a week. She’s out of control. I’m calling the police.”
When will this stop you ask? Never. Not until I’m dead. Nope — not even then. I’ve put in my will to bury me with a huge bow on top of my head AND around my casket. Long live the Minnie Mouse bow. (Just kidding, it’ll stop when I start washing my hair.)
So yesterday we were driving around and found these spools just sitting there, waiting for us to photograph them. Bryan said that it was fate. I think it was a sign from Anthropologie for me to be in their next catalog. Okay, okay Anthro, twist my arm — I’ll do it. Just start sending me free clothes and I’m in.

  1. i love the bow. and you're almost done! so i think it's okay to say that i went summer wardrobe shopping yesterday! my new favorite piece is the smocked-top strapless dress that can also be a skirt. today i just have to find some leggings, and i think i'm set! thanks for the constant inspiration!

  2. You're awesome! Have you tried dry shampoo? It totally covers for a day of skipped hair washing (though you can pull off that bow beautifully)!

  3. LOL the spools! They are awesome! And haha you are right, totally something out of an Anthro catalog, I love it 🙂

The polka dot bow is an excellent addition to this outfit, and YAY for being so verry near the end of the 30 for 30 project, that's dedication!

  4. Your legs go on forever.. i hate you. Once again, kendilicious pics. Oh, and definitely try dry shampoo, i swear it will change your life.

  5. oh my gosh, that is the exact conversation I just had…with myself! :-/

Anyway, the minnie mouse headband is darling, and I love the cutoffs!

  6. Please tell me you put Brian on the look out and threw a couple of those spools into your car. On second thought, they look heavy, best you go on lookout.

We used to have those as our tables – they were fabulous!

  7. wow, thats awesome you just came across those 'spool' thingys. They work great for these photos. I've said it before but I love the blazer. I think shorts and blazers together create the most perfect outfit.

  8. Haha- that bow is pretty over-the-top, but I always support over-the-top fashion decisions. And photo shoots by giant spools. Too bad you couldn't have a giant needle in your hand so you looked like a crafty Alice in Wonderland. lol

  9. what a great photo shoot, i love the spools. Nearly finished your challenge (well done by the way) cant wait to see the very first outfit you are going to wear!

  10. What an AMAZING location find! Love the photos. You're definitely inspiring me to buy jeans shorts with this look–love 'em on you!

  11. I've really enjoyed this remix you've been doing. Such a great idea. I hope you post a montage at the end. It would be great to see them all at once. BTW, good job! One more to go.

  12. Great Picture and great outfit! If I were you I would have taken one of the spools home to use as an end table or in my case a patio table. Hmm…wonder where I can find some..

  13. I think this is my favorite outfit from the challenge. I was just thinking about an outfit JUST LIKE THAT this morning in bed.

And I love the bow. Here's a story: last year around this time, I bought a men's formal bow-tie specifically for wearing as an adorable bow headband. And not one month later, all of a sudden everyone was selling headbands with bows on them. Don't you just love when you're accidentally ahead of the trend?

  14. Where did you find these spools? Can one not only have his/her picture taken with the spools but also load one or more of them into his/her vehicle? I've been looking for one of these so I can wrap it in rope and use it as an end table a la Ballard Designs…

  15. this is why texas is the best place to photograph…you can always find fields of random crap that look really cool in print. 🙂
