I just noticed that I look kind of mad in the first picture. But I assure you, I am not. Also, please note that the arrow labeled “gift” is not pointed towards me but to the scarf. I do not presume to be the gift to the world, but that scarf was a gift to me from my cousin when she traveled the world and stopped in Prague.
I should tell you up front that I am not a football fan. In fact, gymnastics and figure skating are my favorite sports and they are only televised a few times a year, if that. So, as if I have to tell you, today is just another Sunday for me. But for the rest of America (and specifically my husband), it’s Super Bowl Sunday. So here we are watching football, eating pizza, and yelling at our TV. Honestly, I didn’t even know who was playing until today so I decided to dress in the team-neutral color of pink. I knew that I’d be safe in pink since I didn’t want to pre-maturely pick sides. (My husband forced me to pick a side. I picked the Colts, only because I like horses.)
The tights I am wearing is one of two online ordering mishaps. The first mishap was a jacket from j.crew. It was on major sale and it was supposed to be a nice, lemony yellow but it turned out to be fluorescent highlighter yellow. I have this guilt complex though and I never returned it nor have I ever worn it. These bright pink tights were the second mishap. They were supposed to be red, Tango Red to be exact. I read review after review on american apparel’s website and everyone said it was a dark red. But when I got them in, they were pink, hot pink — so, so far from tango red. I was so mad at first but the aforementioned guilt complex didn’t allow me to return them. I left the tights in the bag and didn’t talk to them for a few days. But sure enough I calmed down and gave them a chance. Turns out they aren’t as bad as I thought. They aren’t Tango Red, but I’m glad I didn’t return them. In fact I’ve given them a new name: Super Bowl Sunday Pink. That makes sense, right?

  1. I'm glad they weren't red, I almost like this pink… Just want you to know that I'm doing a post and I'm gonna hate on coloured tights (because I am a hater…) but when I say 'there are exceptions'… I mean you. You pull it off…
I would choose colts too because horses are pretty…

  2. Another non-football-fan here! 🙂 Love the tights (and the surprise color!). The backdrop of these photos is so fun, too.

  3. Love the pink tights!

I just found your blog through My Edit (today… cause I'm super out of the loop), and I'm pretty sure this is love at first site. OK, I totally meant to put 'sight' but 'site' came out and I'm leaving it cause that is just so weird.

Anyway, I LOVE your style, it's so colorful and fun and inspiring! I'm definitely following you!

  4. I'm so glad I found your blog, I think I'm in love with it, your outfits are allways so good. In this particular outfit I love the blazer and the shoes.

Thats so cute about the football, I hate football too, but atleast you can pretend to care, and matching your outfit to the team colours is adorable.

    xx

  5. Awesome photo shoot! I need your husband as my photographer!

I love your super bowl sunday outfit, so cute yet still casual and comfy looking. I also didn't realize what day it was until my few football conscious friends in Munich pointed out that the game was on last night and if I wanted to stay up from midnight German time to 4m in the morning, I could watch it with them….umm….not so much, thanks.

Hope you had a blast though!

  6. Great photos and a great Superbowl Sunday outfit. I have had the hardest time finding truly red (not pink) tights for two years and still haven't scored a pair, but this look may inspire some new bright pink options.

I also wanted to let you know that I just gave you a little feature as my "girl crush of the moment" on my blog.

  7. Every time I visit your blog I fall more and more in love with your style. I love your blazer and shoes. Great outfit!

  8. Lemme know when you put that neon yellow blazer up on Ebay – I love that color!

We don't even have a TV so we didn't participate in SBS. The only thing I'd be remotely interested in is the required stodgy food!
